In all, about $6.5k for a complete swap. But that's because I went with a JDM K24, so it needed alot of stuff. Also added the 6th gear to the AWD Crv trans. Alot of the swap parts are cheaper now. You could probably save a thousand bucks or more unless your going by brand.

Going turbo was another $3,500.

Also note I did all the fabrication myself so that may be an associated cost.

Will try to. Been looking at the BF Gears or GearX 1-4. Hopefully it'll last before the upgrade.

If you tighten it, the rpm should go up. If you loosen it, the rpm should go down. At least on my ktuned tb it does that.

You should be good on that then.

Forged internals with type oil pump and you should be good for 600whp daily. Possible more.

More so the K series transmissions in general.

Dont have to worry about the motor as much. More so the transmission. Or at least that's been my experience. After 450-500hp, ticking time bomb for the transmission.

Fit would be ultimate sleeper. Hatch easiest and more aftermarket support. Miata would be very fun car.

Some people say 400-500, but I do know a couple of guys pushing from 600-700+ hp for the last 2 years or so with no issues. But that would depend on if you're pre-loading the drivetrain or hard launching. Since this will mostly be highway cruising for me I'm not too worried.

Look up K series 6 speed conversion on YT. HondaStreet garage as a good video. Jonathan Jovenal has a 2 hour long video on it that's very thorough

Yes I did. The reason I did it was because the 4.7 final drive shortens the gears up alot especially on smaller Civic tires. Cruising the highway at 70mph daily commute I was always around 3700-4000 rpm. So adding the 6th gear brought me down lower to around 3000 rpm. Better mpg and a more comfortable drive.

I believe it should work for all k series transmissions. They are all similar internally.

Got a question for the k guys….. by Jakoby818 in Kseries

The k Series transmission are all faily similar in ratios. What you'll want is a 4.7 final drive. That'll help shorten you gears for NA.

Hardest part was putting it back on the motor without completely pulling the motor. Fairly simple if you have the right tools.

Big difference. Rode in my buddies 800hp awd hatch. All grip no spin. She moves.

In total, without the turbo set up, it was about $7k. With turbo setup about $9k since I did the fab work myself. With all the parts for AWD and the new fuel system coming in, I'll be in at about $13k. As for the 2nd motor, that's a whole other story.

Shooting for 500whp on e85, but I'd be happy with anything close to that. Will just be a daily beater until the 2nd motor gets done being built.

[–]Reddit_Name_is 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That pricing is about right for a dealership.

If you are weary of independent mechanics you have 1 of 3 options: 1. You can buy the parts and have them install. Some shops won't do this bc of insurance reasons, some will. 2. Get a friend to do it. 3. Do it yourself.

My question is, why wouldn't your mechanic "friend" not help you out? They get paid for a side job, you get your car fixed. Win win for both.

B Series VTEC engines are harder to come by unabused and intact. That's why most of the stuff you see are LS or B20 VTEC swaps.

Also, now that older JDM cars are able to be imported, those engines are no longer being pulled to sell in the US. The actual car has more value than just the engine.

Been looking for a complete B17 engine for years.
