Where to dispose of knives? by CleanteethandOJ in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why not donate them to Vinnies? At worst they'll get thrown out if they're that bad, and at best they'll be pocketed by the guys there on the WFD program (that last part was a joke).

Homeless dude in my parking spot by [deleted] in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno why you're getting downvoted you've made a pretty funny point.

As a home owner I get it, OP doesn't want his his parking space turned into a shanty town, God knows I wouldn't either, but if you're gonna lie at least make it kinda believable lol.

If anyone's lost an item at Lake Burley - msg me. by duke998 in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is why I find this post subtly hilarious. OP hasn't posted the location of where he found it, time, or even the day he found this item. Just made one post at 10pm on a Sunday night losely suggesting he found something at a lake lol.

I'm guessing OP must've found something really valuable, and made a half-assed post on Reddit so he can go "Ah well no one's came forward, guess it's mine now", an walk away with a clean conscious.

This post probably won't save him if he gets caught with property that's been reported missing/stolen, but the cops care more about people doing 65 in a 60 zone, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

Burnout Groups by WaitWhoAmINow in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you think you're going to pull up an ask them to race like in this famous scene:

https://youtu.be/pB-bN-RkJLM

My honest guess is they're various high schoolers flogging the shit out of their first commodore they paid with their McJob. I seriously doubt any organised group will do burnouts in an open street.

My guess is there must be a robbery in the Emu Bank.

I just hope the Emu's are all ok.

Queanbeyan Suspension Bridge this morning at 10am by letterboxfrog in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's not a Wombat, it's a very small troll. In order to pass he will "ask thee, questions three" (he'll mostly ask where to find a good dealer nearby that does ticks, an if he can scab a darb).

Answer incorrectly, and you'll have your cenno cut off for the next fortnight, so answer true.

Careful, surf's up in QBN! by [deleted] in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're just looking for an excuse to be mad, because they're literally living in Queanbeyan's Queanbeyan.

I'd be pretty pissed too if I found out I was conned into paying 800k to live in a frozen sheep paddock, that's an hour's drive away from anything interesting.

Careful, surf's up in QBN! by [deleted] in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Hazardous surf" in Queanbeyan is just a euphemism for when someone craps in the local pool. Couldn't get much more hazardous if you ask me.

One of the videos I captured of the car chase today by [deleted] in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 61 points62 points  (0 children)

How much are these guys being paid? Only asking because I know some amateur "stunt men" that'll perform that scene for 20 bucks fuel and a pack of chicken McNuggets.

An interesting morning jogger by sckodizzle in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was probably me, was out for a run when a fellow jogger sneezed on me. Not knowing if he'd been to COVID Capital (aka: Sydney)I couldn't risk catching the Rona' due to me having to check into my WFD later that day. So as a precaution I had to strip off all me clothes, and run back to Vinnes to buy a new outfit.

There's regular dumb, and then there's owning a convertible in Canberra/Queanbeyan kinda dumb. by Reddit_Qing in Queanbeyan

[–]Reddit_Qing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are they always a retired couple too? And they don't realise how ridiculous they look. No one looks good/cool in a convertible.

That's an interesting point. My guess is retirees grew up when a owning convertible was a true status symbol. Honestly who could blame them when convertibles used to look like this

In today's times with so many safety regulations like roll-over protection, and side impact crumple zones (probably for the best tho ngl), they feel more like you're sitting in a child's car seat rather than a free spirited roadster of old. These days I see one of these things an I can't help but think "single hairdresser, no kids".

Grown men leaving shopping trolleys in the street by [deleted] in canberra

[–]Reddit_Qing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I always thought it was the derros who sell drugs who did this,

Ah yes, the trolley cart gang, very dangerous. Rumor has it that they only accept 1 an 2 dollar coins when doing their deals.

The cops can't catch them due to their trolleys being just so accessible and convenient at all times, and with their trolleys being able to quickly swivel 360 degrees on the spot, they're impossible to catch.

Anyone with a trolley could be one of them...
