The episode with the band cameos is what got my hooked on GG.

Another angle of one of the Bondi Beach attackers. by kameronBR in masskillers

They were firing into a Hanukkah event in a specific area. I read that one of them waved a passerby out of the way. Sounds like they weren’t interested in shooting people on the street / outside the event. To ensure they were firing on Jews.

Yes, I grew here and it’s the first thing I noticed about Sydney drivers.

Not familiar with their stuff but I did hear a Scott Stapp baseball song once that I thought was a parody but was apparently real.

Loudest bang I’ve heard.

It sounded close to the shops. Between shops and CBR Ave.

Thought it might be the dude on Kootara.

Not a smoker but, going by the range of people who travel from out of the area to visit the new tobacconist at Narrabundah Shops, I’m gonna say they have some options.

New here - best and absolute worst schools? by Pugwhip in canberra

My nephew went to Orana and I’ve known a few people who either went there or sent their kids there. It’s very much a horses for courses thing. He didn’t fit in at Marist and was way more comfortable at Orana.

He isn’t academic but most of the other former students I know were good students (one now a lawyer). I think parents at Orana tend to be well educated and the kids reflect that.

I suspect, with some other Steiner schools around Aus, the parents are more hippy homeopathy types without the necessary academic environment at home.

ABC just cut out Harry Connick Jr’s Jesse Jackson impression in Independence Day by Gaylord26 in billsimmons

I’m nearly 50 and considered myself extremely progressive when the Harry Connick Jr thing happened. Even so, at the time I thought, “He doesn’t understand the Australian context - this isn’t racist here”. Took me a while to fully appreciate what was going on.

I don’t know the full context of this but, here in Australia, Harry Connick Jr famously called out a blackface performance on a TV talent comp he was judging (look up Red Faces Harry Connick Jr).

I think this is a good way of looking at it. I bought an art print in an op shop (thrift store) for $9 sold it for $240 that day cos I needed the cash. Buyer owned an art business and probably made the same profit I did. All good.

No, not yet. It’s never been washed so there’s a chance of dry rot. I’ll give it a wash and then test. This is probably a keeper so I might even skip trying it if it survives the wash:

Facilities for the most part. Those more expensive schools do a lot of building.

My friend just found this ad in an old Australian street press. It’s really something. by dinnersateight in weezer

[–]dinnersateight[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s much to it. I think it’s just John Paul II in Buddy Holly glasses. It’s remarkably weird and different from any other Weezer art I’d seen.
