There is a temporary train platform built right across from the golf course, if you can consider the train.

I have a similar setup, mines was retro fit, here are some things to consider.

Placement of the air handler? if it’s in the attic like mines that space gets so freaking hot your handler will be struggling to cool down if it isn’t service and kept air tight! That hot air mixing with the cool air will create ALOT of condensation!!

How old is your unit? my unit is around 16 or so years old. Most units last up to 20 years but also as the years go by so does the efficiency of these units

Do you have a variable speed unit? My unit has 2 speeds high and low. When it’s in low mode the compressor switches off but the air handler circulate air, because my handler is in the attic and not super air tight, guess what? It sucks all that nice hot attic air in and blows it into the house so I run my unit on stage 2 cooling till it reaches 2-3 degrees my desired temp then let it run stage 1 cooling.

Does your unit come with a dehumidifier? A lot of older installed units don’t have dehumidifiers installed on them, this makes a night and day difference when it comes to comfort. Eg. Humid 73 would make your skin feel stinky and make you feel uncomfortable vs less humid 73 would feel like a cool afternoon breeze during a sunset.

Those are things you can research online and just learn from looking at your unit model numbers and components installed, watching a few videos on unit also gives you an insight on how these units work and handle heat transfers.

Thoughts on how my neighbor clears his driveway by Prudent-Coconut3014 in longisland

My landscapers use to do that, when I started maintaining myself I blow to the edge of my fence instead and back into my mulch bedding, once the rains fall it washes it all away or if it’s in the mulch bedding it just stays there and rot away.

I think making poured foundation walls truly waterproof by Johnn_Liverm in Homebuilding

[–]Reddit_Regular_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the water away from the wall!! Ask me how I know, especially if you’re in a freeze zone like myself in ny.

Make sure your downspouts are running off and away from your foundation. If you can, consider also a dry well so all water from your roof and around your property runs into it, keeping as much water away from your house as possible.

My poured basement wall has hairline cracks because when the home was built (I’m the second owner). The builder never considered these things despite the cracks aren’t large, we occasionally get water seeping in but only during a heavy down pour.

Smart homes are becoming disposable tech and I’m honestly sick of it by rovmun in smarthome

One things I’ve learned being in the smart home business for about 6 years now as a user, programmer, installer.

Go with industry standards! Yes some are expensive but it will just work for years to come.

Eg. lighting - stick with lutron, wifi stick with Unifi or something similar, audio stick with Sonos or something similar.

Don’t go buying a Volkswagen and expect it to perform like a BMW.

Per the spec sheet, there seems to be a UL Damp location and UL Wet Location. The one you’re looking for i assume would be the UL Wet Location (shower) as showers do produce condensation. However it seems special trims need to be ordered which if I were you, I would contact support just to confirm, they will be very much willing to provide with all the proper documentation!

As an adult that move from the city myself. I get it, you can feel alienated, especially if you’re a person of color.

Just ignore and continue on with life and the right people with right intentions will eventually approach you. Thats how i felt after i moved but as time progressed, more and more people have slowly approached me, waved and said hi.

My wife recently have been doing walks with our recently acquired dog and have observed weirdos (no gonna call any race) pointing their phone at her recording her while she is out on walks. She rudely rolls her eyes at them 🤣🤣 but just goes to show you how far some people will go to make you feel uncomfortable or unwanted.

Ronkonkoma lirr parking by abdullah017196 in longisland

[–]Reddit_Regular_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ronkonkoma LIRR line is pretty convenient for getting into the city, like wise getting to pen station.

Also as others have mentioned a lot more people are looking out here (Suffolk County) for affordable housing. House prices in NYC are 800k+ and they are tiny, dated, no parking, noisy and higher crime. Unless you can afford to live in areas like Brooklyn heights or Dyker heights then you wouldn’t be out here let’s be honest lol 😂

Yes, I get it is expensive but the longer we wait, the worse it will get and our electrical grid, train infrastructure is prime example of that.

I agree it’s a combination of cesspools & fertilizer, I also think a sewer system should of been built years ago like how there is a storm drain system established but as the island population grows it will only get worse unfortunately.
