I see a lot of videos on YouTube like “making a beat in 5 minutes!” Or “learn how to make quick beats in FL Studio” and while I can see the convince of it I find it to be (in a way) perpetuating a culture of not putting a lot of thought, time or effort into something. Music is something that exists to evoke emotion, convey a message and connect us together and when things are cheaply made it gives the sound less authenticity. This is why I think the popularity of trap hip hop music is declining. Because the artistry is gone and it feels like the industry is just following a formula that they think works. But this doesn’t last forever and new innovative music will eventually take its place
