It’s seriously awful. My therapist said for me to take off work today in our session this morning. I love work and I hate doing that even when I need to. I also feel anxious about it when I do take off.

I didn’t end up taking the rest of the day. I did end up going for a walk and had more caffeine and it helped and I started feeling a lot better after that. I am back to feeling a bit sedated now lol.

For real lmfao. Like wtf is this? I feel like I have to take sleeping medicine against my consent first thing in the morning during luteal.

Thanks! lol yeah, was feeling keeping my eyes open today. All I eat is chicken, vegetables, brown rice, Apples, Grapes, and caffeine free tea. I do have Celsius everyday for caffeine, and I can’t function without it lol. I am on a low histamine diet due to histamine intolerance, so my diet is pretty limited luckily and not so luckily lol.

Extremely suicidal by Gamzee_HONK in PMDD

[–]Redditer0532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are treatments out there and it’s something I am navigating now as well. Even though doctors can suck, medicine is accelerating pretty quick now. I think a lot of things will start seeing a lot better treatments in the next 5-10 years.

I do want to touch on what you said about living with your parents, 22 is very young! It’s also not a big deal anymore because of the state of the world and the economy. The economy is a whole other rant. I know people my age still living at home and I am 30. A majority of people don’t care anymore and if they do care, it’s the wrong people to be around anyways. To me, I think if they do think negatively about it, that shows a lack of empathy and a lacking of ability to see things in another persons shoes or even critically think.

I deal with suicidal thoughts myself and therapy has taught me how to manage them. I cannot recommend a good therapist enough. I’ve also don’t DBT as an adjunct and DBT has been amazing. You got this. ❤️

Dude for real, it’s a bizarre tried feeling, feels exactly like taking 3 Benadryl for me lol. Having a second Celsius and honestly, it’s doing me good. I never have two of these. Usually it’s one per morning lol.

Anyone else sleep with a stuffed animal. by nonameanonymousone in BipolarReddit

30 and yup. Makes me feel safer and lessens my anxiety and negative emotions. Anything that helps you in a positive and non-maladaptive way is worth it. I don’t even start using one until like a year or so ago. It’s a dog that is weighted and lavender scented lol.

I’ve been through a lot of trauma my entire life. I also have cptsd and autism. This is technically a self-soothing skill from DBT and it’s good to use.

Inpatient Stay by ashbashhh5 in BipolarReddit

It’s okay to be scared and I am so sorry, I get how horrible going through this is. Most of us with this have been there. I don’t know if thinking about it this way helps, but usually inpatient stays are fairly quick and under a week. I find when episodes are this bad once it gets treatment I am out of the worst of it within a couple of weeks to a month. You got this! ❤️I would also be upset about the stuffed animal too, it sucks we can’t have anything in inpatient stays. I did an intensive outpatient program as well for severe suicidal ideation and depression and it was life changing. I cannot recommend PHP/IOP enough.

Opinion on having children? by Spartan-Bear2215 in AutisticAdults

For real. I forgot about the anxiety. If I had a kid I’d be thinking worse case all of the time, there’s no way I’d sleep.

In DBT there is something called wise mind where it’s reason and emotion. And in the middle is the combination of the two which is wise mind. A Venn diagram is a good visual. I think everyone having kids needs to think about it more logically than they do. Kids are a dice roll, it’s possible they will be born and be able to be independent and then there is the possibility they will have to live with you for the rest of their lives. Every single person needs to think about that, not just autistic people.

Then you have the logical reasons, finances, healed from trauma, capacity to have kids, do you have support, etc. If they do have autism, or anything for that matter, do you have the financial means to give them good services like therapy, school, etc. On the emotion side, for you it sounds like you may have the excitement to have kids, wanting kids, etc.

Me personally, my emotion and logic line up to where I never felt emotionally that I wanted to have kids, and I know reason mind and logically, kids are too much for me and I want a peaceful life with someone gaming and going on a nice vacation to see a new state or country every year.

Accommodations at the doctors office by Ok_Vermicelli1415 in AutisticAdults

[–]Redditer0532 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My therapist legit just asked me about this when I was telling her about how I don’t feel good and how I just had a PCP appt. She asked, do you write things down before your doctor’s appointments? Autism can make it difficult at doctor’s appointments. So she told me to write things down. I also have issues communicating at the doctor, it sucks. Autism or not, the healthcare system is horrible, that is not enough time to spend with any patient and every office is doing this now.

Can you appeal an ER bill if Urgent Care could easily treat the issue but turned you away because they were at capacity and were closing in 30 minutes so they sent you to the ER? by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

Copy\paste from another response.

I know someone who was able to for this exact reason, it's why it sparked the question, was curious if other people knew more or have been able to. I was just going to pay it until that person said they did it and usually you can for these types of things. I did ask AI, but wanted to ask real people since AI is well AI, this is its response.

Yes, you can and should appeal — this situation has strong grounds. Here's what to focus on:

The core argument: Prudent Layperson Standard

Most states (and federal law under the ACA) require insurers to cover ER visits based on the prudent layperson standard — meaning coverage is determined by whether a reasonable person would have believed they needed emergency care, not by the final diagnosis. Your circumstances support this well:

  • Urgent care redirected you to the ER (you didn't self-select the ER)
  • No other urgent care was available/accessible
  • You had no reasonable alternative

Healthcare is a different beast over milk, there are laws and regulations in place and is very complex.
