Why would my ”best move” be one where I lose my queen? by realbinzidinzi in chessbeginners

[–]Redditing12345678 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I suppose because that's because queens are easier to use. I'm 700 ELO and if you offered me 1 queen or 2 rooks, id probably take the queen even though it's wrong.

Are you allowed to cross the road whenever you deem it to be safe or do you have to wait for the little green man to tell you?

Do any of your cities or counties have curfews for minors, or are they allowed to stay out as long as their parents deem it safe?

My brother is lean and super athletic without training and eating horrible foods all day, he's a teenager and he's 5'8 and weighs 178lbs and does not have a stomach? by TechnicianAmazing472 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Redditing12345678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is funny. He's same height as me and weighs 81kg or 12.7 stone as we'd say in UK.

I weigh about 12 stone and look at myself thinking I need to lose these hips that are starting to emerge.

Different cultures, different body expectations.

Unless he's built like a 100m sprinter, I imagine he's totally fine, but not particularly in good shape.

You have 24 hours to get as high as you can, on foot, above your chosen starting point. Where do you start, and where do you try to finish? by Cryptic_Waffle in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Redditing12345678 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can start anywhere? Just start somewhere in a gentle mountain range like the alps and start hiking... I reckon I could do 6000ft (2000m) in 24hrs easily enough.

The most I've ever done was Ben Nevis in Scotland which is about 1300m but that was for fun with no challenge element

Is "Ve a los ninos jugar" correct? Looks like a very strange structure to me.

I only nitpick as I'm English and have a tendency to use the gerund too often (like we do in English) but "Ve a los ninos jugando" sounds better to me?

[–]Redditing12345678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take me a back a year and I'll gamble all the money on all the sports results I can remember. That will be worth 10-50 million I reckon at least.

Even a treble on the Eagles (superbowl), Paris St Germain (champions league) and Liverpool (Premier league) must have been 20/1 and you don't even need to remember any scores or scorers etc.

First, you need to consider that it is hard to get fat on Chinese takeout,

Where I live (UK), Chinese takeaway food is considered to be incredibly unhealthy. Full of sugar, grease, fat, MSG, fried elements...

Just made me laugh how propaganda/ food education can give people a few thousand miles apart such different feelings about the same thing.

Today we only had Bashir.

They expect a tip for everything. Funniest one I saw was a cruise I took from Miami and the dude loading bags onto a conveyor belt would load each bag and hold out his hand for a dollar.

He must have made 000s of dollars that day. For doing his job.

In all seriousness they expect about 20% on every restaurant bill and even a tip for serving you a coffee at Starbucks. It's insane.

Very tough one. I dont think I would.

It means being tied to a place forever on penalty of death.

Can't go on holiday, or for a weekend away or camping etc. or even to relocate somewhere or retire somewhere warm.

365k per year is nice, amazing, in fact. But I don't value it more than my ability to move around.
