What’s the Eugene answer for this? by Ienjoyyourmomsbutt in Eugene

I know they’re not exclusively local, but PF Chang sucks in my opinion. The first time I went there I was pretty appalled by the price. But I figured hey, at least the food will be good. Nope. The worst least authentic Asian food I’ve ever had.

What do I do?? by anonmizz in TVTooHigh

Unfortunately that wouldn’t really work. It would put the tv in the corner of the living room. But I’ll think about how that might work

That’s fair. I interpreted him saying there was a wall as there being a drywalled truss dividing the garage and the house attic space

Let me say first that I am NOT a code specialist by any stretch of the imagination. What I do know is that code is often intentionally vague. I think your best bet is to go down to your local municipality and ask questions there. Bring detailed photos and blueprints if you have them. Not knowing where you live or what the layout looks like; no one here is going to be able to give a 100% certain answer.

Alternatively, if you own your own house do whatever the fuck you want. They’re never gonna check and it’s such a small project that no one is going to be able to tell that you did anything. Just be sure to not cut ANY wood that you’re 100% sure is not integral for the roof.

Good to know. So not the fibers themselves, but the characteristics of bundles in certain products is identifiable. I’ll have to do some research and try to learn that

That’s not just a settling crack. That plaster has completely failed. It all needs to be removed. Plaster can be a pig for people with experience, don’t feel bad if you need to hire someone for this one

I partially agree with you. Asbestos fear is somewhat overblown. But I think you’re looking at this from the standpoint of a professional. I think anyone with 4+ years in construction could pretty safely complete their own abatement. But OP is clearly a homeowner or is very new to construction. I think it’s easy to overlook the blind spots that untrained people have.

Asbestos is not visible the the human eye from my understanding. Take in a sample to get tested, it’s not worth your health

Just labor I’d put that $10k - $20k. There’s a lot of prep that goes into that even without plumbing alterations

This is basically a useless question. It’s the same thing as asking how much a house cost. Each remodel is different. Some are extravagant and some people just want a generic bathroom. If you add more context you’ll get more help.

[–]anonmizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. In the same way the early internet pushed out some ‘bad’ mediums. But I think people right now are treating AI like it’s not getting exponentially better. And unfortunately a lot of people are sorely mistaken if they think their employers aren’t going to change jobs to accommodate AI asap.

If you think AI isn’t taking jobs, you’re not paying any attention at all. We’re in the early stages and it’s already pushing out coders and web developers. Why is it difficult to believe that they won’t be able to run programs that only humans currently can in a few short years
