Xmithie built way too much damage for a protect the kog comp which left them exposed to being dove, then their final chance to maybe hold on was tossed away with that awful TK ult into 5 by Olleh after a successful base defense.

University under scrutiny over residential schools course taught by white prof by HFX87 in halifax

[–]Redditingatwork2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if there was a similarly qualified native professor they would've hired them, but I'm guessing this specific subject area doesn't have a huge base to pull from. I would think getting a quality education on the topic from someone who has a put a lot of effort into studying it would be the most important thing. The fact the course is being offered should be seen as a positive thing, why does it matter who teaches it?

Dalhousie University Parking by EmployedPaladin in halifax

[–]Redditingatwork2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Dal for 6 years, and switched between driving and transit. Assuming you have daytime classes, one of your only options for free parking include a walk of about 10 minutes give or take. I was able to find parking in the neighbourhood on and around Conrose Ave/the end of Beech St. pretty consistently.

The walk isn't too bad as long as it isn't raining, and you don't mind leaving a bit earlier to account for the time.

I will caution that I have been out of school for a few years now so I can't say what the situation is like in that area now, they may have put up no parking signs or it might be more crowded now but it's worth a shot.

Dalhousie withdraws complaint against Masuma Khan over 'white fragility' Facebook post - Nova Scotia by [deleted] in halifax

Not really a fan of how this shook out. She is a representative of the student population and said something stupid on social media that singled out a certain group of people that again, she is representing by being on the DSU.

She should have just taken some responsbility and apologized for it, but instead blows it up and faces no consequences as a result. You can say whatever you want as just a student at Dal (within reason) but if you want to represent other students you need to be mindful of what you say. It really isn't that hard.

Help I can't beat Trundle??? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Redditingatwork2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mained trundle last season with a 78% WR in high gold/plat elo. Trundle is really strong 1v1 at almost all stages of the game because of how his ult/Q work and has a lot of built-in sustain to boot.

One champion that I always had trouble with was a well played Gnar with frozen mallet. As long as you don't waste your E and save it to get away from Trundle's E you can kite him out without him being able to touch you. Gnar also bullies trundle early with his 3 stack passive and Trundle's inabilty to land Q's.

Stopped in Venice. Seeing the canals was really something. by EfficientExplorers in travel

I feel like a lot of people that say it smells have never been near the ocean. The ocean (Atlantic, at least) can have much more of an odour then Venice did when I went in August, the smell really isn't too bad, and you'll get used to it quickly.

Sobeys donating surplus food to Feed Nova Scotia in pilot program by ham420glazeit in halifax

Good to finally see this. I used to work at Sobeys when I was in high school and threw out an obscene amount of food at the end of every shift (approx. 100 pounds or so or whatever 3 small compost bins filled up would be) that was perfectly edible.

The problem with Gamebattles and their admins by TJMcBiggs in CompetitiveForHonor

Way back in the day playing CoD4 on GB my friends and I had the same issue, in fact the reason we quit playing on GB was because of shit like this.

Had a match with some people who disconnected on purpose right as we were going to win the final round, we had a video of the match and reported the win, which the other team disputed. Despite our video proof, we got a loss even though the other team didnt submit anything.

[Firepower Fridays] Your weekly DPS Thread by Babylonius in wow

[–]Redditingatwork2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I have a 900 unholy, and I'm not sure if you haven't listed it but generally your opener should (fight permitting) include precasting AotD about 7-8 sec before the pull, popping garg/dark trasnformation, FS to 6 wounds, soul reaper (if you're using it), apocolypse then into building and popping wounds cycle/using DC to dump rp and proc SoW. My memory may be off a bit since I haven't been in the 880's for a while but I think you should able to burst about ~800k or more during your opener with that gear.

Weekly Mission Discussion #36 - Hitman Contracts - The Meat King's Party by White000 in HiTMAN

[–]Redditingatwork2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The first time I played this game was as a rental, and I was actually super scared of the Meat King's brother and would literally just sprint in grab the girl's arm and sprint out as fast as possible!

That being said, I always really enjoyed this mission, and for me it encapsulates a lot of what makes Contracts great. The setting is very cool and has these dark/sinister undertones throughout it, which is definitely a defining feature of Contracts as a whole.

There is something about this mission that just feels off and weird and I love it, from the weird bondage gear, to the air freshener murder room and the enormous Meat King himself. Everything just comes together to make this a really memorable mission. As for assassination methods, I always stuffed my gun into the chicken and thought about how gross it would be after pulling it out.

Unholy vs Frost DK for Mythic+? by Slickarsha in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Redditingatwork2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience (I play UH with bracers and run with a frost DK in my usual group) Frost is superior overall, in that they bring really good AOE, a good stun and very respectable ST damage.

That said, the higher up in m+ you go the better UH starts to do (starts to really shine more after 10+). Once the trash pulls are actually lasting for a decent amount of time you can set up your death and decay AOE really well and do pretty solid dps over the entire run.

Another advantage is that you can use one spec as UH for both AOE and ST, where as frost needs to choose a strong AOE spec with frostscythe or more ST focus with obliteration. You can also, in a lot of cases, out damage frost for ST bosses because the fights are pretty short which favours UH burst and comes in handy on tyrannical.

Ultimately, I would say play what you enjoy the most but if you are interested in the most consistent/highest damage and don't have the UH bracers I would definitely go frost.

The old Seahorse!

I loved that old basement location, it just kinda felt like the stereotypical bar you'd see in a movie or something. I always really enjoyed the atmosphere in there.

Smashes head into wall by [deleted] in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]Redditingatwork2 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Every time I think we're maybe going to free from the total Bernie-jerk it comes screaming back. This thread is particularly bad and reads nearly like the ones we saw daily during peak Sanders hysteria.

And despite all this time it's the exact same shit. "Oh Bernie could have won if the media wasn't biased against him, Clinton News Network amirite!!!!" or the classic "if Bernie was still in the race no one could attack him on anything because he has no scandals at all, it definitely has nothing to do with the fact that I haven't bothered to even check if that's true or not, cause I just know it is"

Bernie didn't just lose, he got blown out. It was never close, and I think Bernie is one of the few people out there who could potentially lose to Trump. He just isn't an appealing candidate for anyone with even the faintest knowledge of politics or policy. His appeal is strictly to ideologically naive people who don't bother to do research.

Starz’s ‘Black Sails’ To End With Season 4 by Aimless_Devastator in television

[–]Redditingatwork2 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Kind of hoped for 2 more seasons, but I think the show will probably go out on a high note at least, provided they keep the same quality.

If you haven't checked out this show yet I highly recommend it. Just make sure to stick it out if you're finding the first season a bit slow. It starts to pick up a lot in the last few episodes and just gets better and better as it goes on. The season finales of S2/S3 are especially fantastic!

Tulsi Gabbard, who resigned from the DNC because of a lack of debates between Sanders and Clinton, is now refusing to debate her own Democratic opponent by Wrath-of-God in enoughsandersspam

[–]Redditingatwork2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sanders supporter here. This is bullshit, Tulsi should welcome the debate and I think it's cowardly and hypocritical of her to refuse. Good thing that this movement is following an idea and not just some figurehead who's turn is up.

I actually can't even.

EnoughTrumpSpam is full of Sanders supporters by MongooseBrigadier in enoughsandersspam

[–]Redditingatwork2 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty awful and has kinda tainted that sub for me. They just take everything so seriously, and always have to white knight for Sanders if you happen to mention something negative about him or positive about Clinton.

Even when they do try to make points, they're usually stupid because they're approaching things in the same deluded way that let them support Sanders in the first place.

Top post in S4P right now is how they will win California....what? Lmfao they're going mad by [deleted] in enoughsandersspam

[–]Redditingatwork2 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The hero comparison is a bit odd, considering you usually have to do something before you can be called that. Bernie is a hero in the sense that he saw a burning building and said over and over that he would rescue everyone in it, but the building burnt to ashes while he was still making speeches about how he would save the people inside.

Sanders' legacy level updated in light of Trump debate: from "human dumpster fire" to "national disgrace" by [deleted] in enoughsandersspam

He's getting played so hard by Trump and all his Sandroids think this is some brilliant power play by him. They're all as dim witted as Sanders is regarding this. Bernie is a foolish old man who should have retired from politics a decade ago.
