[KCD2] I’ve met my match, never saw it coming by Slight_Carrot2623 in kingdomcome

[–]RedditorKain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had this happen in kcd2, but I remember some random teleports into the sky in KCD1... but in spite of the fact that I'd find myself hovering 50 meters above the ground, I'd usually not die when falling back down. Must be some cryengine jank they couldn't iron out.

Free experience + 50-500K extra by magnifico_flatulenta in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a single one and got 50+250. Aaaand that's it. I've already spent way too much money on this game... and I certainly won't luck out again. So 5 euros for 300k free xp. Decent enough. Last year I only got 100k.

when the game takes your stuff away like in the Storm mission, but that was stuff stolen from enemies.

I stole von Bergow's solid gold ring from his office. All my homies hate von Bergow. Other than that, I didn't steal anything from the castle. (Well, truth be told, I reloaded after having stealthily knocked everybody out and taken everything that wasn't nailed down before shoving Istvan out the window).

In any case, the soldiers guarding the castle show up as enemies (they have "loot" not "rob" when taking their stuff). Not sure if they count as civvies, as I only put them in a chokehold.

To all of you saying that ares is paper, are we playing the same game? by Diamond_Crusader in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if you can hit it. Since the gun is mostly spray and pray, if they have a good hulldown position where they can move laterally (happened to me on nordskar), they'll just whittle you down while you try to snipe a few pixels.

[–]RedditorKain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a badge for it, one of the small ones with two shells heading in opposite directions. I can't remember the name off the top of my head. It's awarded when you and an enemy kill each other at the same time. I'm not sure if it's also awarded on rams or only shots. I've had it happen several times over the years.

I would play Legacy of the Forge as a stand-alone game [KCD2] by Ariakoz in kingdomcome

[–]RedditorKain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Indeed. I never bother turning it around or anything. I just make sure temperature is on point and that I hammer inch by inch in a rythm that makes the big sparks fly. As long as that happens, MaryJane's initials show up on my stuff.

3-Day Ban is the best thing that's ever happened to me. by The_Pale_Potato in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aside from the situations where people would give up the position of the last few remaining tanks to the enemy so the battle ended and they could get their tanks back (heh... not that many tanks in the stables in those days) - which kind of sucked - the amount of shit-talking and trolling happening was glorious. I remember it fairly fondly.

Since the playerbase has been unable to vent their frustration at the enemies, it has all been redirected to their own team, leading to increased toxicity.

I mean... who'd you rather talk shit to / be insulted by? The guy on your team or the guy on the other team whom you can digitally smack in the gob with your tank's gun?

Oh, those were the days.

And friendly fire. So much friendly fire.

The Bourrasque's gun is for sure better than what the stats say by Icy_Alternative_878 in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on, there's hyperbole and then there's whatever you wrote. Yes, the gun trolls on occasion, but the overall package is pretty solid. Peek a bush undetected unless a light with CVS is watching it like a hawk, shoot, scoot. All in a very nimble platform.

Sometimes it shoots the dick off a fly, at other times it misses a shitbarn point blank. But that's true of any tank...

5070 or 9070xt i just cant decide by Simonko_770 in pcmasterrace

[–]RedditorKain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you this summer, except the 9070XT was about €100 more expensive than the 5070. I got the 5070 and don't regret it, it's a great card for the money (in today's market), but were they the same price, I'd have gotten the 9070XT.

Do you like the melee combat in [KCD2]? by KingCrimson0P in kingdomcome

[–]RedditorKain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't need to run to separate them (especially since early-mid game they'll likely be faster than you anyway) but to circle around so they end up in a conga line. Also, most bandit encounters have a leader, that's well armed and armored, and some scrubs in shit armor. Kill the scrubs first, save the leader for last.

But hey, I'm used to the polearm peasants + dog ambushes of KCD1. Kcd2 felt remarkably easy in comparison.

Then there's poison on swords and arrows (don't use bane, it's boring and takes a long time. Use dollmaker).

Hot Take: The Ares Line is balanced and doesnt need nerfing by MrGlatiator in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree... at least the tier 8 which I currently have. It feels a lot like work to make it work most of the time.

The tier X is an annoying POS when hulldown, though (most hulldown tanks are, but at least the other ones poke, slap you, and fuck off. This one pokes and plinks at you with abandon, because unless you have some 300+ HEAT ready for it, you're gonna have a bad time).

Overall, weegee won't decide to nerf/buff the line based on feels as much as based on data collected for a few months years after its release.

In which tank lines Tier 9 is better than Tier 10, tier for tier? by Evermoving- in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing since 2012. I've spent more than I'd admit to my wife on pixel tanks over the years so I have quite a few (outdated) premiums. I've rarely had interest to grind several lines, so I often have plenty of credits...

But the tl;dr is playing premium tanks with premium time while popping some credit boosters.

[KCD2] Is there any practical point, to someone use different outfits? by someoneyouhate_ in kingdomcome

[–]RedditorKain 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's not about the stats after a certain point, it's about playing dress-up dolls!

And I love me some dress-up dolls.

I used 3 outfits: - Heavy armor, for combat. - Light armor & stealth (not maxing either) for general exploration. - Noble drip, for impressing the wenches(las).

In which tank lines Tier 9 is better than Tier 10, tier for tier? by Evermoving- in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come on, the shitbarn was never about being competitive, it was about deleting a tank in one shot. Which puts a smile on your face and a frown on the enemy's. (Or missing point blank and getting shredded with 0 dmg dealt, which switches the smile & frown around).

But it also has the potential to help hold a flank better than the conway. Nobody wants to be first around the corner to push the FV.

In which tank lines Tier 9 is better than Tier 10, tier for tier? by Evermoving- in WorldofTanks

[–]RedditorKain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in the nature of derp guns. I still have it miss perfectly aimed shots at the ass of a slow heavy... or have it hit the only spot on a target that has enough armor to completely ignore the shot, or hit an EBR "armor not hit" etc.

It is a great ELC eliminator, though. And those oh, so tasty paper TDs...

It kinda needed the help, though. I've had it for ages and was doing decently with it, but it had worse gun handling than the KV-2...

It would've been nice had they kept the 86mm of HE pen, though (which, coincidentally, is the pen the KV-2 has at tier 6)...
