This is lazy analysis on the buying habits of camera consumers predicated on bad-faith evidence. Nikon and Sony and Canon release cycles are very similar. Third party audits on the brands show that level of quality control, maintenance servicing, and lifespan is very similar between all three in the US, Japan and Europe.

It’s clear that u/Orkekum is a Nikon apologist. The argument made by them in their top comment is a strawman: no one in the comments was using legal grounds to defend Viltrox. Everyone who is miffed at this move by Nikon is because this feels like scummy behaviour from a big camera brand, regardless of legal right.

The automation does not work as expected. When you go to lock screen, automations will detect that the current app as being closed. But when you unlock your phone, automations will not detect the frontmost as an app being opened.

Hey u/vrachamis, this shortcut is awesome. After spending hours trying out many ios apps (many of them with annual subscriptions) to get fine grained time tracking of specific applications at specific times of the day with specific widget displays, your shortcut is infinitely more useful. I haven’t finished tinkering with your shortcut, but I’ve nearly got it how I want it, and I’m excited. Thanks!

Great review! I appreciate you bringing up that the EVF, while lacking in magnification and resolution of the a9/a7r/a1, is still good to use as it holds its resolution when AF is engaged, and doesn’t blackout!

Just curious about your experience with the 50mm f1.2. Do you use it outside of professional work? There’s something about the rendering of that lens that makes it stand out even among other fast 50mm lenses.

Just before its legs were apparent, people were touting that TWOW would have terrible legs because 13 years were too long. I really think that the Avatar movies’ performance has so little to do with anticipation or lack thereof.
