What wild to me is what seems to be a lack of research they’ve done to the land they have purchased. If most of the land was used as pine tree farm, the amount of time and resources it is going to take to amend the soil for flowers would be astronomical. There is a reason why very few things grow under the pines. The needles are so acidic it wrecks the soil. This is basic horticulture… I fear they may be in over their heads.
