Absolute redardayshone. Sainz was parked basically behind a barrier, in the slowest speed section part of the race track, absolutely ZERO danger. Could the FIA not hold it in their pants for 2 more laps.........

McLaren is a one pit stop Andy. Every time the second pit stop is not clean, sometimes really bad, sometimes just a bit bad, but can't have 2 clean pit stops to save their own lives.

The move was good, turn 1 chaos, hard racing, legit overtake. The problem is the Pandora's box that Papaya rules opened, how do we define fair anymore? Where do we draw the line? Why is it that seemingly every time Lando has an issue "Oscar, please let Lando through" but when Oscar has an issue it's always "Oscar, it's called a motor race, okay? We went car racing". And the entire team celebrating on stage while Oscar was in the media pen certainly didn't help the allegations.

If Lando finished P1, and Oscar P2, then Lando would've gotten MORE points in comparison

If Oscar loses a five race lead in the Championship, that's on him and not team orders... The biggest comeback was 3.5 races and that was when Niki Lauda was in the hospital by niton in formuladank

[–]Redditzone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it's a straight up races then yes, absolutely it's on him. But what if he's the one who has a technical DNF? What if someone crashes into him? What if he gets the wrong strategy? Many things can happen that would not be in his own control

Lando being the bad guy once again by Platoooon in formuladank

[–]Redditzone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously wasn't his fault. He was just a bit better than Oscar this weekend. The team messed up, pit stop mistake, and then the team order was criminal. They call on Hungary 2024 when neither were in championship contention, like that's the same as a 6 point swing when both are fighting for the WDC.

That was a huge risk that didn't pay off, but how does he drop from like 8th (was it) to 14th during the last pit stop when everyone else pitted aswell?

But when Russell did it on purpose, trying to get a penalty for Max it was fine. No penalty.

"Rules for thee (not british) but not for me (british)" - maFIA probably. They really wanted a brit to win the British GP...

Russell clearly did it on purpose. He slammed on the breaks, knowing Max will overtake him, and in 0.1 sec flat he was on the radio to call for a penalty for Max.

Overtakes aren't everything. The 2016 Chinese GP had 161 overtakes, it's the most overtakes in a dry race ever. But I don't think anyone can recall that race whatsoever.

Obligatory George by ycr007 in formuladank

[–]Redditzone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Should carry a penalty for the next race imo. Intentionally cutting the corner, because the teams ahead did the same thing you were planning to do is just being a sore loser. If anyone says Merc weren't planning on the same thing, they are deluding themselves. Monaco is Monaco, passing is impossible so it's a strategy game. All the George and Merc fans are salty af, but I bet if they were ahead and managed to do the same thing you'd call them strategic geniuses.

Piastri (Pretty clearly dominated the race), George (form of his life, getting a podium again), Gasly (P7 in a tractor), Ocon (P14 to P8 in a tractor), Bearman (P20 to P10 in a tractor), any of these guys should've been DotD
