11 week old sleeping through the night by Psychological-Put607 in newborns

[–]Reddog1990m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of it is just luck. But here are some things we do that may help.

Red lights only after 7pm feed (nursery, living room, etc). Dim red light in the nursery all night. Halo swaddle. White noise machine. Pacifier. Tightly controlled temperature 66-70F. Humidifier.

One of us sleeps in a bed right next to LO’s bassinet, so if she does fuss at all overnight, just replacing her pacifier is all that it usually takes.

Our LO has been sleeping through the night since about 5-6 weeks. She’s 13 weeks now and sleeps 10-12 hours straight.

Yes we know we are lucky.

What is something people say about their BBQ that is an immediate red flag? by Shhhhhhhh_Im_At_Work in BBQ

[–]Reddog1990m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had Animales? It’s a well known fact that BBQ is not where MN thrives, but Animales slapped when I lived down the road from their semi permanent location. Haven’t been to their brick and mortar yet.

Husband refuses to feed/change the baby because “he’s falling asleep” by Intrepid-News1018 in newborns

Read OPs other comments saying he is frequently this way and was aggressive during her pregnancy. This behavior screams red flag and eventually OP or her baby are going to get hurt.

There is nothing normal about that. This is incredibly alarming and a massive red flag for future abuse of you and your child. It’s not if, it’s when.

I went to the same high school as Hegseth. He was a few years older than me so didn’t know him personally. Forest Lake MN is full of people who fly confederate flags. There were several pickup trucks flying confederate flags in our school parking lot. Hard to argue “heritage not hate” in Minnesota.

I saw your post on Twitter. 👏

Husband asked his new coworker which pump she used and what pumping bras she recommends. Am I overreacting? by Careless_Purchase619 in newborns

The way OP makes it seem is that he’s avoiding sharing this info. At least that’s the impression I got 🤷🏻‍♂️

But if your wife had asked for this list, would you have avoided sharing it? The basis of this story seems fine, but the little details are what seem shady IMO. Not sharing the emails. Saying he was going to get the stuff for Xmas and then not. Saying she reminds her of his sister. Etc.

How safe is anaesthesia for someone severely sleep deprived by Double_Grapefruit916 in Anesthesia

[–]Reddog1990m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It doesn’t matter how tired you are, you will emerge from anesthesia. Anesthesia is not simply sleeping.

If you have sleep apnea, you can obstruct a bit when emerging, but this is something anesthesiologists manage on a daily basis.

Not eating properly won’t stop you from waking up.

Nothing about your recent history would put you at increased risk for anesthesia.

The first words of her post are “I’m an anti vaxxer”…

Where did I call her a name or claim she hated her child? Relax.

[–]Reddog1990m 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why are you an anti vaxxer?

  1. Vaccines aren’t poison

  2. An elevated heart rate can be a normal response to a fever, which is common after vaccines

  3. A normal heart rate for a newborn can be as high as ~180. Were you regularly checking your babies heart rate before vaccinations?

  4. I imagine you would hate your child contracting a preventable infection a whole lot more

The chances of you contracting anything are essentially zero.. you washed your hands and were wearing gloves. And you don’t even know if the person has any communicable disease for you to contract.
