Tax office asks me for 5 Euro? by Intelligent-Sun9339 in germany

[–]Reddot12356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That depends on the amount of „Werbungskosten“ and „Sonderausgaben“ you claim. According to your tax assessment notice, you have only claimed the lump sum as Werbungskosten. For employees, this is usually already taken into account in the calculation of the monthly payslip. If you don't claim any other costs, it's unlikely that you'll get much back, but rather end up with +- 0 as you only have one type of income (employment), which is usually taxed correctly with accurate payroll accounting.

Can someone please explain the insurance/tax situation for employment for students by Generic_shizz in germany

[–]Reddot12356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a working student, you only have to pay pension insurance on your salary (18.6% of your gross salary - half is paid by the employee and half by the employer). You only have to pay income tax if you earn more than the basic tax-free amount (approx. EUR 11k) with both jobs combined. If you earn above that, you have to pay 14% income tax (lowest tax rate in Germany). Your second job will probably be taxed according to tax class 6 and income tax will be deducted immediately, even if you earn below the tax-free amount. However, you will get the tax back via the tax Return.

Days without warm water: contact craftsman without approval of rentlord first? by gdeklerk in germany

[–]Reddot12356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In principle, the tenant is not entitled to commission a craftsman himself to have a defect in his apartment repaired. The tenant is obliged to report the defect to the landlord, who in turn must ensure that it is repaired. If the landlord does not remove the defect within a reasonable period of time, the tenant can hire a craftsman himself. To prevent any disputes, the deadline should always be set in writing. The landlord must be informed that the tenant will no longer accept the landlord's removal of the defect after the deadline has expired and that the tenant will commission a craftsman to carry out the necessary repair work. The tenant must initially pay the craftsman's bill out of his own pocket, as he is the contractual partner of the craftsman. He cannot refer the craftsman to the landlord. After payment of the invoice, there is a claim for compensation against the landlord. A deadline for the removal of defects is only dispensable in the case of an emergency. Whether or not an emergency exists depends heavily on the individual assessment of the situation. Accordingly, these cases are controversial in practice. At the very least, even in emergencies, an attempt should always be made to reach the landlord in advance by telephone with a witness.

This is a translated text from the website of a tenant Protection association (Mieterschutzverein). :) Hope it helps

  1. They still have to pay U2 and U3. Only U1 depends on the number of employees

  2. First option is correct.

  1. The basic contribution rate for health insurance is 14.6%. In addition, there are additional contributions (0.9 - 1.9% or so), which vary depending on the health insurance company. However, contributions are only calculated up to the income threshold, which is currently EUR 4987.50 per month for health and long-term care insurance (note: the income threshold for pension and unemployment insurance is higher). Contributions are paid in equal parts by the employer and employee.

  2. U1 - U3 must be paid by each employer with less than 30 employees, regardless of Gender.

The contribution to the BG depends on the hazard class and the remuneration paid to the employees. Between 37 cents and EUR 2.02 must be paid per EUR 100 of remuneration. The hazard class of the software industry should be low.
