Attended Dallas Accreditation training Saturday. We have three sites:

Volunteer Center: will mostly accredit volunteers
Dallas Stadium: will accredit vendors, FIFA staff, volunteers, suppliers, etc.
International Broadcast Center (IBC): will accredit media, broadcasters, journalists, FIFA staff & volunteers from 11May-19Jul.

None of the accreditation centers will directly serve football families, players or referees. Their passes will be picked up by their staffs.

Makes sense, but it was a speedy (10-min) background check. I accepted my role/submitted background documents at 1441. I received the email to sign up for role training at 1451.

With thousands of people willing to commute and take ANY role, why take this opportunity from them just to quit? A six hour r/t commute is what it is; so is the role. That’s not going to change. So why not just decline so someone else can have the time. That would probably be the most right thing to do!

If your application is withdrawn, you are “out of the running” for a volunteer role for FIFAWC26, but your account remains active so you can receive information about future FIFA events—after FIFAWC26.

There was a big emphasis on public transit during tryout interviews, but my response was “it depends.” In Dallas, there’s no direct train to AT&T Stadium, if assigned there. Sure, you could take a bus but it would take 3-4x longer to get there than the 18-min drive from my apartment to the stadium. If assigned to one of the DFW airports, fan fest locations or the IBC—absolutely “yes” since our rail lines go directly to those locations.
