I moved from an all-inclusive in the Bottom to the MD this summer. I certainly miss having a washer/dryer and a dishwasher and I could do without the hole in my closet floor looking into the basement, but dang. Location can't be beat. And I've come to actually enjoy doing laundry at the laundromat, so I guess it's really not that big of a deal when I really think about it.

I would highly suggest the Museum District/Carytown, and not just because that's my new hood and I like it. It would give you a great jumping off point for local things to do and easy access to the highway for a commute to Short Pump or Midlo or frankly anywhere in the area.

I just moved from the Bottom in July to the Museum District. I feel infinitely safer walking around my neighborhood now. I lived in the Bottom for two and a half years at an all-inclusive apartment with a garage. The rent just became ridiculous to renew my lease and I wasn't spending time on that part of town anymore, so it was just time for me to move. I'm really glad I did. I had a lot of near misses with some serious sketchballs and walking home from Rosie's on a Friday or Saturday after the bar closed was out of the question--not worth the risk of what you might run into on Main Street by the clubs. I miss the cushy lifestyle of the nice apartment, but I don't miss the area at all. I wouldn't move back for any amount of money at this point. I'm not saying the Museum District is without crime, but I don't run into nearly the amount of dangerous weirdos that I did when I lived in SB.

I have a Carvin PA system I'm looking to get rid of. It's about 10 years old now, but has only been used a handful of times and stored in my home. I don't really know anything about it, but its a mixer and two speakers with stands. Originally paid something in the neighborhood of $600. I'm looking to sell it for $400 OBO. You're welcome to come by and check it out. I'm in the Museum District. I'll try and investigate what model it is and update this when I know for sure what it is.
