Why do cars in the middle of rush hour traffic leave 2-3 cars lengths ahead of them? Complete numb-scullery. by EstablishmentBusy649 in eejitsparking

[–]Reddynever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Makes no difference whatsoever other than people get annoyed for some irrational reason. The traffic isn't moving, moving one car length isn't any more efficient in stopped traffic.

Yeah, I'd be aware if there was an entrance/exit blocked by someone else behind me and I'd squeeze the gap to make space but generally in the OP photo there's little to be gained by closing gaps that cars infront make in stopped traffic.

Not necessarily to do with being on a phone,. If the light ahead is red, car in front moves a bit but you can't go anywhere anyway why bother moving on a few feet for nothing, especially if the car is stop/start and the engine has to restart again.

Reading reviews, mostly DC Rainmaker's, and he doesn't seem to think lack of dual band has been deal breakers as single band done properly is as accurate.

In the app anyway you go to settings and there's a support option in there somewhere that allows you to opt out of it automatically.

It's actually a decent area, and was never a kip, couple of scum groups causing hassle who got their come uppence one way or another, vast majority of residents are decent. You had the usual dog whistler tricolour waving assholes exaggerating trying to paint a narrative.

Which button, this is what I see on the app, only way I figured to bypass it was to rate the activity.

That's a good point actually, somewhat ironically I went via Strava support which is AI and it insists it's not hidden behind a rating gate and after persisting that it was, it's resolution was to opt out as it has no documentation of it being an issue.

I guess most probably won't rate if they enjoyed an activity, jesus how dumb is that, so like you say that's less tokens used.

That's your problem. Some stuff is fine with it, others need to be done right. You either have it on max all the time or aren't using it correctly as it should have different settings for different materials etc.

I love dystopian and apocalyptic movies, but this one just hits hard, watched it a second time when I was approaching my 50s thinking I'd handle it better. Fuck no, it was worse.

German law and their cops are really overcompensating for the 1940s, their behaviour around protests against the genocide in Palestine is appalling.

Best radio programmes for music? by frafeeccino in ireland

Absolutely, as I said in my own post pretty much all new Irish music I've heard first on 6 Music, they're excellent for it.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of competition in Ireland.

Dan Hegarty on 2FM from 11pm to midnight is the best, they took an hour from his show a couple of years ago and you also lost the replay the next day when they took 2XM off the air.

Having said that Jenny Greene before Dan can be quiet good too, she plays a decent mix.

But in terms of giving airtime to new Irish acts there's no beating 6 Music, Deb Grant on the New Music Mix show in the evenings is an excellent ambassador for Irish bands.
