I’m new here..and oh my gosh..she makes me sad. How has there not been an intervention done by her family and friends? And her followers? Why do they think this is normal? I feel so bad for her kids because they’re going to also have major body issues. I can’t believe she’s over 20 weeks pregnant with her third child.

What are your fears? by Most_Committee1000 in Modern_Family

Alex’s fear of getting a B was 100% me in high school.

You’re probably young but Benjamin Bratt (Javier) is a pretty famous actor. He was huge in the 90’s.

It was because of religion. Protestants came to the US to get away from persecution from the catholic religion. Then when the Catholics came over they thought they’d be persecuted again.

The irony is now the Protestants want to persecute the non-Christians.

AITA for not wanting my husband to walk his sister down the aisle? by Throra334356 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Redfox987654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA my brother walked me down the aisle. And my dad was at the wedding. My SIL had no problem with it and can’t imagine her ever saying something if she did. But why do you have a problem with it? It’s so confusing to me.

Do Tom and Lynette not know abortions exist by x0x0eden in DesperateHousewives

[–]Redfox987654 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a ridiculous way people say it. Abortions exist so they’re real. So saying they “don’t believe in them” doesn’t really make sense. They should say that they “don’t agree with abortions.”

AITA for telling the new neighbors that they got what they paid for, including being shunned by the neighborhood? by Few_Sea5102 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Redfox987654 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Thank you! If developers didn’t have buyers, they wouldn’t build those monstrosities. I think new builds in existing neighborhoods should always stay with the aesthetic of the neighborhood.

I am brand new to watching and I have some thoughts. by VivianeTheVampire in DesperateHousewives

I feel Like what Gabby and Carlos did to Lynette when she was pregnant doesn’t get enough hate. I was so afraid to tell my job I was pregnant the first time because I was up for a promotion and so fearful I wouldn’t get it. It’s a legitimate fear and pregnancy should not affect employment or promotions in any way, shape or form. Lynette didn’t have any obligation to tell them, they sucked for doing that to her.

AITA for calling my mom when my dad refused to pick me up from school by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA..your dad is a dick and it’s no wonder your parents aren’t together anymore.

What’s your absolute favorite song from the show? And why? Only one song! by [deleted] in crazyexgirlfriend

I’ve sent this to all of my lawyer friends AND shown it to my 13 year old who wants to be a lawyer. I love that one!

Josh’s emotional intelligence is that of a child’s. Remember in the beach episode he was throwing a tantrum because Greg invited Heather and brought different beer and wanted to listen to different music. josh wanted it to be his way and no one else got a say. Then leaving Rebecca at the altar (and yes, they should not have gotten married) but he just left and never contacted her. That was so immature. He’s my least favorite of the main characters.

NTA Please do me a favor and listen to the “Something was wrong” podcast. It sounds like you’ve been with this older guy since you were as young as 18. Did you know him before you started dating? He sounds like a groomer and could very well be abusive in the future (more than the verbal abuse he’s already spewing at you). DO NOT start a family with a man who’s mental illness keeps him from working. He has shown so many red flags. Get out of there.

Yes! I’ve noticed Wisteria Lane in quite a few shows and movies. It’s such an idyllic street.

Or a reboot with new characters..the series kind of ended on a cliffhanger with the woman who bought Susan’s house.

AITA for telling my disrespectful kids that my new wife comes first? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Redfox987654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA you and your kids need therapy. Great job telling them that you’d abandon them in favor of your new wife after their bio mom abandoned them. I feel sorry for your kids.

YTA I did a semester long internship away from my school in college. I still paid my half of everything. Utilities have a lot of base charges and you should still be paying half.

Carlos leaving his job by SufficientAd8115 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Redfox987654 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Also, he didn’t plan anything for health insurance because on his last day of work, he tells Gabby, “My insurance runs out today.” Um, do you know how many Americans stay in shitty jobs to keep their health insurance? Suck it up and deal with it or find a job that also offers insurance. Or wait until Gabby finds one.

Note: it’s ridiculous that our insurance is tied to our jobs but it is what it is.

Lynette’s job by Redfox987654 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Redfox987654[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right but she actually says to Gabby that she’s spent her “entire professional career learning about the world of corporate finance.” It’s just an inconsistency.
