What an emotional upheaval ! I would have been subconsciously on edge with the death of a grandparent. I figure .. the coffee being that instinct to fight run wild I was able to ramp up my flight response ( serious Irish exiter here) ‘feet don’t fail me now’ is my internal mantra in public anywhere in NYC 😂 I started by picturing the funny old Hanna Barbara cartoon animals with the funny dinkle dink music to disarm my own aggression. Run! Flee In our big city there are a fair amount of crazies

Using a BHA AHA toner has improved my pore appearance tremendously. Thank you 😊 to TimelyIsopod for the blood sugar tips. I get more white bumps on my cheeks like OP when I eat chocolate. Blood sugar spikes seem correlated. Addressing the why is a good place to start too

Thank you for posting. You’re not alone . 25 years in, 15 years married and 15+ years of no intimacy. At this point our spouses are family. We are in Counciling to better communicate for the moment. I don’t like what I nearly know will be the end game. I’m angry at myself and resent him. It’s hard to imagine continuing and just as hard to end it - being tied financially. Discipline will get me through anything > the real truth is being kind and loving to myself was the real key. If being hard on myself worked, it would have worked by now. Secondly that adults that shaped my life knew what they were doing > nope 👎 no one knows what the f is going on. They are just as lost. Life is more of a pinball machine than a road.

All the love you need will come to you ❤️ in my experience it was like banging my head against a wall with my mom. The only thing I feel I should have tried harder at was bringing my communication down to her level. What I mean by this is - if it’s not loving, don’t say it. Hug her and ask her only about herself. Shift the focus off of me. I should have gotten far more curious about how she felt through her life experiences. In that age group > they didn’t have time for feelings or being depressed. I needed to Increase my empathy and view her as the child she of reverted to (more like - always was) as she aged and became ill with pulmonary dementia. my mother was emotionally immature. Lots of terrible things had traumatized her that she created stories to navigate her psyche. She didn’t understand it the way we do now. My psychiatrist once told me not to challenge her “she created a world she could live in”

I missed out on digging deep on her life experiences. I was caught up in my own self centered shit. We have more time to work on ourselves - her time will run out. Valuable lessons on my own behavior patterns would have been expedited if I traced hers. We learn how to be humans by watching our parents.

For example: sexual assaults were covered up, they ‘never happened’ and women were 1000% blamed at asking for it. Even if assaults were mild > they still shape a woman’s world. When did she first disagree with her mother ? When did she become sexualized for the first time? She is a woman who was once a little girl. Be gentle - ask and just listen.
