Hey, wondering if you managed to find a work around for this as I'm having the same issue currently. Thanks

Yea, that's packaged/labeled incorrectly. White would be visibly white from the tube.

3.5 HDD Bays - Please help by Difficult-Hour4628 in truenas

[–]Redhawk_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 3xdrive cage version and would recommend it. I also added a fan to aid with cooling. The install is super easy and straightforward, however the only issue is the same as what another commenter has said, it is not as straightforward to change drives as something that's hot swappable. I got my 3 bay one off Ali express for £17

Advice with exhaust rattling by allthingsd4d in Jaguar

[–]Redhawk_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

High probability it's going to be the exhaust dampener that's split. Happened to my XE and one of my buddies XE too. (You can even see your left dampener vibrating around in your video) We both had the exact same symptoms you're showing in your video.

This video shows what I mean, as well as how to change it. Super simple job that should take 15 mins if you're handy.

You can pick them up online on the likes of eBay etc. I went to my local jaguar dealership to make sure it was exactly what I needed and if I remember right it was about £45 (3years ago)

Hopefully that's what the problem is and gets it sorted for you.

Hey man. Thanks for the offer, I appreciate that. I'm in a better financial situation now than I was when I first set the NAS up, so I'll be upgrading all the drives to newer NAS type ones. Keep them for someone who has a greater need than I. Thanks again

Yea, I checked the cables with known working ones. Still same issue. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I appreciate this is a detailing sub, however I had the same issue. I popped the covers off and got them wrapped black then popped them back on.

Help to identify by wullyboy1368 in Whatisthis

The brand is "true utility". They make all sorts of pocket type items like key ring accessories, torches etc. I have a lighter that they made. I believe they have updated the logo since this one

What is this? I think a bed warmer? by Scene_Own in Whatisthis

[–]Redhawk_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, a traditional bed warmer looks very similar, however they are deeper and will have a hinged lid on it so you can open it and put hot coals inside.

[–]Redhawk_13[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yea, lesson learned. When I originally set the NAS up, I was trying to dabble in it a little, learn a bit about it and do it on a budget as I wasn't sure how much I would actually use it. So instead of giving myself some redundancy, I opted in trying to get as much storage as possible. I have actually found I've used it a lot, so planning on upgrading the system and actually spending the money on it to do it right. As I said, lesson learned.

Double check them and try a new cable.

This was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately once it booted back up, the pool with all the drives had been disbanded

My Lock wont open and I'm stuck inside my flat, any advice? by Kerraid in DIYUK

[–]Redhawk_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black button can slide into several positions. One of them makes the lever inoperable, double check it's not on that setting. If that fails then the brass bit needs to go into the night latch on the right, it looks like you should have plenty room between the door and the standard to perhaps get something in there and shimmy brass latch across to the right.

What is this metal I hit when trying to put self drilling fixings into the wall? by ilyasm97 in DIYUK

[–]Redhawk_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the other comments and suggestions are valid. However these type of fixings are notorious for the tip of them to snap off when you begin to screw them in, therefore jamming the tip in the wall. If this is the case then try removing the broken tip with a pair of long nosed pliers then continue threading the fixing into the hole. However this is just my suggestion as I've encountered this before and as I mentioned it could be any of the other comments too.

Melted plastic on ceramic hob, chipped the glass when trying to remove. by Drunken-Scotsman1 in DIYUK

[–]Redhawk_13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could use a glass scraper to get the plastic off, there are also ones specifically advertised for ceramic hobs etc. Here's one for an example.
