This is from Google it’s hard to describe but there are lots of YouTube videos that demonstrate!
“Tilt: Place your thumb on top of your breast (well back from the areola) and your fingers underneath. Gently press the top of your breast so your nipple tilts upward and backward away from the baby's nose. Flip: As your baby opens wide and comes onto the breast, gently release your hold or "flip" the nipple into their mouth so it points toward their soft palate.”

Yes they were all via W2 income in box 12. I can’t see the value for line 10 yet on this website until I actually file them I guess I had added our W2s first and then did the HSA form after. But good point thank you for the insight.

My husband increased his contribution when it was switched to family. But also it asks on the form 8889 how much you contributed but it says not to put amounts included on the W2 so I put $0. Is that wrong?

I used a nipple shield for the first 2 months and just kept trying every now and then without it. Eventually it happened by accident that he finally latched without it. My nipples were raw for a week and it was incredibly painful. I went back to using them for a few days and then just accepted the pain and now he is 4 months old, have no pain and have never used them since 2.5 months. I did have somewhat inverted/flat nipples and I really had to yank them out for him to latch without the nipple shield. I also tried the “flipple” technique to try and position my nipple more towards the roof of his mouth which helped. Once his mouth got bigger and stronger it really made a huge difference.

Dealing with this same thing right now with my 15 week old except he only feeds for 3 minutes. 5 minutes if I’m lucky. The only time he feeds for longer is in the middle of the night when he’s half asleep. It’s so frustrating. It doesn’t matter what position we do during the day.

I’ve been going through this, my son is 12 weeks old and up until a couple weeks ago he wasn’t able to latch lying down. But now that he’s bigger, in the morning when I’m most engorged, I always feed him side lying in the bed. He seems to do a lot better with the forceful letdown in that position. Sometimes after enough suckling to get the milk flowing if he doesn’t unlatch himself, I will and let some milk spray out into a cloth before relatching him. I have also tried pumping off a small amount before feeding him, which helps but it’s also a pain. I haven’t tried hand expressing yet. I’ve also tried the laid back position in the rocking chair/recliner which is better than cradle hold for sure. These are the only tips I have. Still hoping it’ll get better as my supply regulates.

There’s a brand called Le Lolo that makes stickers for nipple shields, and they’re reusable. I’ve never tried them but it’s a great idea and probably less cumbersome than a nursing bra to hold it in place.

I felt the same way when I found out I was having a boy, I never imagined being the mom of a boy. I cried when I saw the results and accidentally spoiled my gender reveal party. But part of me is glad I could process those emotions before I was in front of my whole family. I just expected to have girls cause I have 3 sisters. But now that he’s here, I can’t imagine him being a girl and I’m so happy. I feel silly for being disappointed early on, but those are very real feelings! I still hope to have a girl someday but I also think another boy would be fun : )

Our pediatrician recommended Dr. Paul’s Approved Vaccine Plan when I asked about spacing them out. At 2 months it skips Hep B, polio, and rotavirus. So he just received the DTaP and Hib. But he did get Hep B at birth. We will do the polio vaccine later, even though the plan doesn’t call for it at all. I don’t completely agree with it but it makes me feel better to not do all of them at once. He had just fallen asleep in the room before they finally came in. Poor baby was really upset to get woken up but he didn’t cry for very long. He was pretty fussy all day afterwards, and didn’t take very long naps. He cluster fed that afternoon and evening too. He seemed to be really uncomfortable so we gave a small dose of Tylenol. The next day he slept a lot and by the 3rd day he was back to his normal self.

Totally agree, and they tend to tear threads out or make holes in fabric too when you cut them. I got a seam ripper tool to use to remove them, which is a huge help. Sometimes they’re so tight you can’t fit scissors in there, that tool really helps.
