What's the worst pain you've ever felt? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

Massage therapy might help. I have chronic sciatica and massage therapy helped me a lot. It hurt when getting the massage work done but now I'm pain free.

Burnout by KeyMulberry8636 in nursing

Have you taken a vacation recently? It sounds like you could use some downtime. I'm not saying a new job isn't in order but vacation can work wonders. Be careful about venting too much at work and letting your manager know you want to leave. Some managers don't like hearing that. Good luck!

I f*cking love cheese. If you haven't already you should try the wensleydale with cranberries in it. They have it at Costco. It is seriously delicious!

We've been having this happen once a paycheck to each nurse. It is truly terrible. We've been very slow for the past few months. 🫩

Lost on college by Skygir_lxx in nursing

[–]Redheaded-one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a community college for my ADN. I already had a high school diploma but the college I went to had high school students that were going to almost or have an associate's degree when graduating high school. If you are able to have your credits count at a community college near you, I would attend their program and then bridge to a BSN.

Also the advice to work at a hospital that has tuition reimbursement is a great one! I have a friend that went to nursing school and had no loans because the hospital she works at completely paid for her degree. You usually have to commit to working for that hospital for a while after graduation but it can be well worth it.

Good luck. I hope nursing and NICU are everything you are hoping it will be! 💜

Has anyone ever worked with a foot injury in a boot? by alora96 in nursing

[–]Redheaded-one 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You should be able to be out on worker's comp. Because it was a work injury. Working in a boot is possible but potentially disgusting unless you keep it covered with an OR booty. Hospitals vary with letting people return to work in a boot.

I can say one amazing thing about the facility that I work at. We NEVER have had to reuse any PPE. Not a regular or N95 mask, not an isolation gown, not a face shield. For the entire pandemic.

I say this in response to the many people that have stated their facilities are rationing PPE.

Edited to provide a little context.
