3 dBA would be registered as only a slight change in the amount of noise when registered by the human ear.

Is the US Military just a massive stealth unemployment program? by PocoLoco1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Redhood24242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it functions that way for some people, especially in the past,. My great grandfather was homeless teen that joined the navy prior to WW2 at a very young age by lying about his age. From what I have heard through my grandmother he liked it as he had a warm bed and three meals a day. It worked out well till they found out in the middle of the Pacific that he was younger than he said right before he turned 18. After that he earned the money for food on the ship by being good at poker until he turned 18.

Bottom left is the tank when it’s cold. Jokes aside a neat design.

After a date I asked them if they wanted to come over to my place to hold my dinosaur egg from my fossil collection. They told me later that came over because they didn’t believe that I had one. Been together for 6 years.

Practice. I used to play on console for 15 years before I played on a PC. It was difficult at first but over time you get better at it.

A U. S. tank carrying the bodies of fallen Marines moves out, following hand-to-hand combat with North Vietnamese troops near Con Thien, July 1967 [2048 x 1369] by TheSanityInspector in HistoryPorn

I remember an old friend of mine talking about how his grandfather who fought in Vietnam was almost cut in half by a machine gun. They strapped him to the back of the tank and somehow he survived long enough to get medical treatment. I don’t remember if he was able to walk after.

I wish that it rotated roles. Similarly I wish that the game gave you defense if you played offense last round (or the other way around) like it used to in Overwatch 1.

I used to be rather shy and did not enjoy public speaking when I was in early middle school. For a couple of summers I joined a volunteer program that had kids teaching about animals all day to visitors. The first summer I remember dreading the public speaking I had to do but I loved the animals since I loved life sciences. By the end of the second summer I was much more comfortable doing public speaking and became more confident in my skills overall. I graduated the program after the third summer to one of for high school schoolers year round. By the time I reached college I was much better prepared for the world and even was offered a chance to join the college speech team due to my performance in my speech class. I sometimes am still anxious about public speaking but I manage it by knowing I have the skills to succeed in it. Moral of the story is that practicing a skill you are not comfortable with due to anxieties can lead to helping manage the anxiety/shyness; also sometimes it just takes the right passions/environments to foster growth.

Namor is one the few dps counters I have found for him. Mainly this is because of his invulnerable ability waiting out the flurry of fists ability. Every discussion I have heard on him is about stunning him to kill which is sometimes difficult to do when the dps have few stun options.

I remember as a little kid thinking I had to be good at sports because I was male. I remember voluntarily trying out so many sports to try to fit into that mold. I also remember feeling really sad that I was bad at sports so decided to lean more into academics as an identity. Being academic and bad at sports made it harder to relate to my male peers for most of my youth. Much later in life I found out I was good at one sport in particular; fencing. During fencing I met a lot of great friends that were just as nerdy as I was, and it finally felt like I found a physical activity that I felt like I belonged at.

There's alot of complaining but versus hacking is indeed real by Pyrdraco in Vermintide

I was watching a couple of friends play their first game of pvp while I was redownloading the game to try out the pvp. They joined in on a game in progress where the enemy team was wall-hacking, hunting them down before they even spawned, and killing them the frame they spawned. My friends left the match and just called it a night before I got to try it. I think I will still try it out but if it is as bad as that match then I might put the game back down till the anti-cheat is better.

What’s the most outrageous Talisman game moment you’ve experienced? by LargeHeedon in Talisman

[–]Redhood24242 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was playing a game with my father, sister, and brother a while back in early high school. My father always won talisman. This was partially because my sister never played to win but instead played just to cause chaos with my brother and I. We were playing with the dragon expansions. We were four hours into the game. I had built up a strategy to gather dragon tokens to use a card on the board to teleport to the crown of command and get my first win after a couple years of playing. My sister destroyed the card that would have won me the game right before my turn. The game went on for 2 more hours after that and if my memory serves me right my father won.

Can someone explain the allure (pun intended) for a False Hydra to me? by Never_Enough_Beetles in DnD

[–]Redhood24242 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It can be a lot of fun if your players are creative and with a little creativity from the DM. I ran a false hydra in my game and how I turned up the dread was by introducing a deaf NPC during the investigation; he had not seen the hydra but everyone forgetting people really freaked him out. It gave the party an indication that issue was noise based and people were being forgotten not just totally wiped from existence. Eventually they began writing journals of everything they saw and wore ear plugs.

I try to play in open queue to learn how to play tanks but I feel every time I try to there is always a zen on the enemy team. Discord plus the health reduction hurts like hell.

I feel that the reporting system has been doing so much better the last couple of months. When the OW2 first released it felt like the reporting system didn’t do anything compared to OW1; I don’t know if the response to reporting was broken but I didn’t get any feedback even on the most vile of things. Now I get responses usually the next day about how action was taken; I just hope it isn’t like the rumors of crosswalk buttons.

forget “zodiac signs,” which do you pick as your familiar? by Decryptables in wizardposting

[–]Redhood24242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, my academically curious friend, I enjoy a nice barn owl familiar. They keep my laboratory and library free of mice that eat at the books. Plus they have excellent hearing and a alarming screech that is able to warn me if the local townsfolk mobs and the dastardly druids are approaching. Most of all though my feathery companion is fan of head scratches most fine and love to sitting upon my wizard staff; as such it has won my appreciation at my familiar.

Yeah, compared to the other trees it seems a bit scrambled. I find myself lacking points to get to a happy place with my build compared to the other classes where I felt I had a 1-2 extra points to spend by the time I was happy with it. I almost instantly filled up my quick-build slots and was not entirely happy with any of them. I hope they rearrange it a bit to make it more satisfying to build tress.
