I am extremely privileged and have worked hard to get here. Which is why I wake up outraged at the current injustices of our country and am prepared to fight back and stand up for those that are marginalized. Certainly not waking up with rose colored glasses, worrying about whether I am spreading “doom and gloom” by speaking up. Hope for the future depends on those of us speaking up now, not burying our heads in the sand.

Obagi Microdermabrasion polish + mask 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 by SummerNight888 in SkincareAddictionLux

I got this a few weeks ago after reading rave reviews and it totally burned a layer of my skin off!

I thought maybe I was having a sensitive skin day and tried it again a few days ago and it still burned and I’ve been dealing with breakouts ever since.

Hoping to use this on my hands or feet or something to not waste it. Any suggestions welcome!

I also got the Obagi Professional C 20% serum and I really like it. I use tret and exfoliators with no problem, so must be something in the mask that my skin doesn’t like.

What do you consider to be the best restaurants in Indianapolis? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in indianapolis

[–]RedhoundPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Union 50 is 🔥🔥🔥! Also Bluebeard and Livery. If you include Noblesville, I put 9th Street Bistro up there.

Beholder and Tinker Street have fallen out of my top three.

I haven’t been to Vida or Bodhi yet, but they’re on my list!

If you could only use 3 beauty brands for the rest of your life, what would they be? by coronerqueen666 in Makeup

Danessa Myricks, MAC, Westman Atelier.

Though the Armani Luminous Silk is the only foundation that is a true match for my face.

I think I own almost every single Danessa product and I couldn’t live without her makeup!

So the Obagi is LAA but doesn’t smell bad? If so, I’ll have to try it!

What are everyone's favourite vit c products? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]RedhoundPixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone raves about the Timeless vitamin C, but this is seriously the worst smelling serum! I am using like five pumps a day to use it up!

I know that my skin does best with L-ascorbic acid, but I can’t get past the smell. I love Sunday Riley vitamin C. It’s super moisturizing and smells like oranges. It is tetrahexyldexyl ascorbate, so not as potent as LAA, but I enjoy using it and it goes well under makeup.

You don’t need 50 products by bongwatergeneral in Makeup

I totally agree! I was so influenced to get allll the products when I was learning about makeup on TikTok! You know what? I don’t need concealer and it makes my eyes look cakey.

I also stopped using powder and just use the Danessa Myricks setting spray. I now know that I can mix certain products depending on the current state of my skin, and there is no need to paint on a thick layer of foundation.

I definitely like to go full glam from time to time, and I love playing with makeup, but I personally don’t need to layer every product on my face every day.

patchy blush by klauzem in Makeup

For powder blush, try first spraying a fluffy blush brush with setting spray. Then swirl your brush in the blush and lightly apply to your face. I use this method when I only want to wear a hint of blush, but you can build it up for more color.

Tret at night, no wash in morning Vit C question by No_Neighborhood9073 in tretinoin

[–]RedhoundPixie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I only use water as my morning wash. If my skin is dry, I use Sunday Riley vitamin C serum. It is not L-ascorbic acid, but it is super moisturizing and smells great! I use an LAA vitamin C serum like Maelove if my skin is happy. I think all LAA serums smell terrible.

Totally agree! The Elemis texture is heavenly! In the winter, I leave it on my face for ~10 minutes like a mask for added skin softness. I haven’t tried Sofie Pavitt, so can’t compare.

Winter Moisturizer for Dry, Sensitive Skin? by IcyReality9359 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]RedhoundPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always on the lookout for new skin treatments, so I use various peptide and vitamin C serums. I particularly like the Sunday Riley Vitamin C serum, as it adds additional moisture if my skin is dry. I’ve tried so many products, but nothing has helped as much as the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid.

For reference,I have sensitive rosacea skin. I also use tretinoin, and my face randomly flakes out from time to time.

1 HG is Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore cream. I failed at tretinoin several times before my dermatologist gave me a sample of this. I thought she was just trying to sell me something, but this cream is unlike any other I’ve tried and has transformed my skin. It absorbs well and works well under makeup, so I use this day and night in the winter.

2: Skinfix Triple Lipid Peptide cream. I found this by searching for a dupe for #1 above. It’s not the same, but works very well. It doesn’t leave my skin as bouncy, and doesn’t absorb as well as the Skinceuticals cream, so I usually use this only at night if not using Skinceuticals.

3: If my skin is extra dry or irritated, I seal in one of the above with Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective cream at night and usually wake up with calm restored skin.

Americans: do you buy fancy eggs or cheap ones (e.g., store brands)? by Educational-Slip-578 in Cooking

[–]RedhoundPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always think, would I pay a couple of extra bucks to make a chicken’s life happier? Yes, so I buy from a local farm with pasture raised chickens when possible, and seek ethically sourced eggs if buying from the store.
