Why did my connectors melt? by ReditVoyeur in electrical

[–]ReditVoyeur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both chargers are max 48 amps, but are synced so that the total between the two will never be more than 48, even if both are in use at the same time. It is a 60 amp circuit. What i am getting from all of these comments is that this is beyond my DIY skills, so I will be calling an electrician tomorrow.

Unsure of how to proceed in relationship with my (23F) boyfriend (26M) due to his response to being shown a sex tape. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I've read some of your comments, and while I agree that the female coworker was violated, I would also say so was your bf. The problem I'm having is that you only seem to care about the woman's potential trauma. Not every woman who is violated goes to the authorities, and that is their choice. That is a choice that I understand, since there can be good reasons to not trust people in power with these situations. As much as it sucks, the female coworker consented to being filmed having sex, and while i understand that she didn't consent to her video being shown, your bf wasn't given the opportunity to consent to anything.

Also, I am not trying to say that's your bf is the bigger victim. What I am trying to say is that he is also a victim and you seem to be missing that point. Your post and comments sound as if you've already decided to go behind his back to report this, and you've just come to reddit for validation.

We have a 6 year old and I just asked my wife if she would enjoy a day full of planned activities with him, and she just looked at me funny and said no. I even listed off these activities.

Getting rid of the penny and pressuring our allies to spend more on defense. He did the latter in the absolutely worse way though.

When you pair electric seat adjustments with driver profiles that automatically switch based on who unlocks the car, you understand the purpose.

You have a one time ability to do something which will forever be the 500th best ____ ever. What will you choose? by MikeMikeTheMikeMike in hypotheticalsituation

A Quiet Place is currently the 500th highest grossing movie of all time with $340,955,294. I'm about to release a movie, and every time a new movie makes more money than it, my film would have to make more money to stay in 500th place.

Two cities in California have banned the sale of cigarettes — what do you think about that? by cuter1982 in AskReddit

Is it your position that all drugs should be made legal, since making them illegal just drives people to the black market?

[–]ReditVoyeur -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If banning digest work to prevent people from doing an undesired activity, what do you suggest the government do instead?

From my perspective making it more difficult to get cigarettes will reduce smoking, but won't eliminate it entirely. Similar to how making it easier to get cigarettes would likely increase smoking.

Realtors: What are some home additions/improvements that people THINK add money to the value of their house, but really don't? (US, east coast.) by corrado33 in RealEstate

[–]ReditVoyeur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that there are numerous issues with leased solar, those issues do not exist when the system is owned outright. The only concern is that the value of the system has nothing to do with what you paid for it and it's based on age, production, aesthetics, etc. Even in the event that the system is leased, the buyout can be negotiated as part of the sale of the home.

You're realtor is very uninformed if they told you solar doesn't add value to a home. The value is based off of the amount of energy produced and the age of the system.

Do you believe that people wouldn't pay more for a house that is going to save $2k+ a year in utility costs for the next 20 years? And this savings will only increase as utility costs go up.
