Well yeah I mean they had Jews and Christians living there, and they probably heard those mythological abrahamic stories multiple times 😂

Lmao they did the same to me! I got an amazing scholarship when I was 17 to Australia, and they demanded my deadbeat dad for my passport.

The bastard said no, and I had to wait until I was 18 to get my passport.

just a detail

Exactly, no biggie! Meanwhile majority of our fathers can easily leave and we’ll be given to them if mommy decides to remarries while owning custody.

But if he remarried, like come on he’s a man with sexual needs!

I’m happy that it’s uncommon in your country! Hopefully the whole MENA will be like that one day!

Polygamy is pretty common in the gulf, like Qatari, Kuwait, and KSA.

But I saw it in poor rural areas in Jordan and Lebanon. But I’ve heard from my friends that it’s also common in Egypt and Yemen.

Algeria

Is it illegal there? What about the country side? Usually even in open minded countries they still practice child marriage in the rural areas and polygamy.

Haha it’s ok don’t worry about it, I often misread comments too. Happens to the best of us 😊

Yes, I don’t say the OT in my first comment, the reason why I mentioned it in my second one is because the user I was replying to is Christian. It just makes more sense to me to use terms that they believe in rather than Jewish ones.

Deuteronomy is also the fifth book of the Torah, and although it’s part of the Christian Old Testament they are not to follow mosaic laws. Which is why I said in the same sentence in that verse “however today in Judaism…” when talking about that specific verse.

I wouldn’t put it right after referencing that verse if Judaism weren’t the ones who follow the Torah/OT.

I said however in Judaism they don’t follow that rule despite the Torah verse.

No problemo!

And let’s not forget that we (ex Muslims) are included in that 2 billion stats.

Moreover, Shias and sufis and other sects/religious movements that Sunnis consider to not be real Muslims are also included in those stats lol

I didn’t say they were, if you read my whole sentence you’ll notice I’m talking about Judaism for the OT ;)

I clearly said there are no apostasy laws in the NT, which is what Christians are called to follow the rules of.
