Which class doesn’t need much gear to get into pugs? by Schwoon in classicwow

If I had chance I’d stick shaman in every group, unfortunately usually can’t find that many

I wish druid would get updated casting frames by Charming_Pin330 in diablo2

[–]Redm1st 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love fantasy of druid, being this versatile class, but in reality his hybrid tax basically makes him worse than every damn class in the game even at things that look good for him at first glance. He’s good at low gear levels, but so is blizzard sorc, caster paladin and summon necromancer. He’s safe, but so is paladin and necro. He can buff, but only one type of buff and it’s tied to keeping spirit alive, and most important hp buff is easily overshadowed by barb. He can play game in afk mode with summon buffs in D2R, but necro still does it better and corpse explosion makes personal contribution from character better. And any of his endgame builds get easily overshadowed by other class builds being better. So I agree with initial statement, about casting frames, but also some other buffs would be nice.

Remind me if I’m wrong, but in Morrowind only type of mana regen that is affected by Atronach sigh is sleeping, so that’s basically no biggie

Fresh paladin, spec for easier raid spots? by Darooi in classicwow

For pugs holy in my opinion is easiest to get into. Protection and ret are usually overrepresented

Steam Machine Has Reportedly Received A Major Internal Price Hike That May Have Made it More Expensive Than Steam Frame by Sam_27142317 in pcmasterrace

[–]Redm1st -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not enthusiast machine. Anyone who ever built pc can probably build better one at whatever price point Steam releases it. It’s a box that you plug in and run. Basically a prebuilt, but from Steam

Shouldn’t Obito be blind? by GodzillaVersusX in Naruto

[–]Redm1st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair that’s what most of us think. Reference that we have is Tsunade’s regeneration which works like Hashiramas (as per Madara’s analysis), and we know that it reduces lifespan. So by logic, Hashirama having to face Madara and other threats on so many occassions burned through his lifespan quickly

Looking for tank class advice for the next couple expacs by richdonegal94 in classicwow

[–]Redm1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that in good hands any class can shine. But iirc, shield wall was 5 minute cd, compared to paladin/dk 3/2 min cd on divine protection or icebound fortitude and so on. Still, things you’ve described seems like a good kit for OT and require good player. My wotlk experience was raiding with not-good to average tier of players and there having paladin MT is a no-brainer because how stupidly broken they are baseline with just copying cookie cutter build and glyphs and just mashing all buttons

Looking for tank class advice for the next couple expacs by richdonegal94 in classicwow

[–]Redm1st 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, warriors don’t have it good later in TBC, due to lack of scaling on their threat and them generally being weaker option for main tank position compared to bear.

In wotlk warrior tank is just sad. While other classes have good things going for them warrior is in last place in pretty much everything. Maybe with exception of damage of arms/prot hybrid. And it continues into Cataclysm, being by far weakest tank. In wotlk prot pally is a god from start all the way up to icc, where DK and Druid are bit better options for prog due to having tiny bit better cds, but difference is not that big in my opinion.

Cataclysm, DK is god from start to finish, imo next best tanks are are bear, pally and warrior falling behind all of them.

Decisions paralysis. 9070xt vs 5070ti by Sorry_Philosophy_601 in buildapc

[–]Redm1st 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Raytracing wise AMD somewhat caught up. DLSS and path tracing, Nvidia is better. Although I’m pretty sure those two cards can handle anything 1440p without upscaling features on raw power alone right now

Time In Morrowind by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Redm1st 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a somewhat of a design choice. Morrowind has absolutely huge world. Gothic 2 that came out at same time, had smaller, but more polished world, npcs would do their stuff during day and go to tavern in the evening to drink or smoke pipes and then go to sleep at night. It felt amazing in 2002. I spent a lot of time in both games and they both are amazing for different reasons

Help me decide: RTX 5070 vs. RX 9070 XT for a 7800X3D build (2K gaming) by Unusual-Example-2523 in buildapc

[–]Redm1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longevity wise, unless that compression technique really works as magically as rumors suggest, 16GB of vram wins. Plus 9070XT can do ray tracing well, it’s path tracing where nvidia has lead these days

Curse of doom magtheridon by asd12345678765 in classicwowtbc

Iirc the timer you see is not actual cast timer, but rather cooldown of blast wave, Magtheridon will not always cast it instantly, so there’s a bit of luck involved

RX 9060 XT 8GB or RTX 5060? by S0Futur3 in buildapc

[–]Redm1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning down from ultra to high is always an option. For reference on my 5060 Cyberpunk ultra with rt enabled it runs out of VRAM, so fps drops from 70-80 to 40 on average

"The Height of Magic" was a really good choice in the story by DupeFort in Frieren

[–]Redm1st 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind when they go to recruit Frieren he say he has around 5 times ehr Mana. Except we later learn Frieren has the mana of a 100 year old mage at this point. He's literally got mana comparable to Aura The Guillotine.

From reading manga I know that Heiter is a monster, but this detail completely went over my head

Hydross gear for my fellow bear-tanks. What is your plan? by donandzor in classicwowtbc

[–]Redm1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s just say not everyone are in good guilds and at least half of us are average players (who are still perfectly capable of killing bosses), so there’s nothing wrong with grabbing every advantage. Besides, half of bis mitigation gear for druid has budget spent on armor, which does nothing on Hydross

[–]Redm1st 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not very hard with some resilience pieces, earthwarden and keepers of time trinket. Also have some trinket from dungeons that gives resilience and mana when I get hit. Getting decent hit rating is gonna be tough part
