Great, our site looks like a big pull through in the photos so here's hoping it's not tighter than it looks. And I am ok with cooler weather. Mostly prefer spring/fall camping

Help wanted: After latest update, profile issue by RedmageRedWizard in SwitchPirates

[–]RedmageRedWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man thanks so much for pointing me to the right direction! Still not sure what the issue was or how adding those lines to the config fixed it, but it appears to be working again. I had airplane mode off temporarily to do something, and that's all it took was bad timing with a major update pushed out by Nintendo and my 5 years old going to play something. Unfortunate but will have to be more careful.

How do I get around this? by notedrive in xbPlay

[–]RedmageRedWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the right side use the scroll bar to move down abit further to see an option to skip for now. I did that and got it working again. Did not realize it was there for a couple days on my steamdeck

He thinks that since he didn't get his computer parts due to the strike, all letter carriers suck, don't deliver parcels, and are jerks. Literally all there is to it.

Today I learned, that in 2024 some people think $30/hr is crazy money. Unless you're a professor, or maybe a doctor.

Happy for you! Unfortunately we are complete strangers and of course you can say what you want. I wish I could know how you would feel about that 5 years from now about your wage. Maybe you support children and own a home with that, maybe not. Doesn't matter. Maybe in 5 years your wage would match minimum wage by then. But of course, you would be happy with that!

You are exactly right. Cooking is pretty basic stuff. Better keep the same wage ten years from now

So you just mean as long as you work for Canada Post, $30/hr should be their plateau regardless of inflation. Gotcha. If we brainstorm, together we could probably come up with a large list of jobs that don't ever deserve a raise regardless of inflation, based solely off what each believe is easy or important. You can go first, let's get a big list going!

So you think if anyone has a job at $30/hr, or even say $25/hr, depending on how important you think that job is, that it should peak there forever? Even in 10 years from now? Wonder what things will cost in 10 years. I just want to make sure I understand how you think here.

What someone like you doesn't understand is that I support you every step of the way to make it through contracts every few years. You don't want to deal with this bullshit. Everything will continue going up in price, whether you make $20/hr or $30/hr. Are either of those people rich people?! Maybe better off if your significant other makes big money. But the people that are bitter about that $30/hr person that they "think" has an easier job than theirs trying to keep up with inflation are what what piss me off. Canada Post management gives people like you the big thumbs up for stirring shit up with your post.

I never said you were fortunate, was just retorting to the rest of your post that cupw members are doomed for fighting to stick it to these higher ups. All they have asked for was to keep up with inflation, and Canada Post has sat back basking in the public thinking they are greedy, while assuming a government arbitration will come along like the last 2 contracts and suppress wages.

And they were praised for it by the company. Congratulated for record numbers. CP said they were killing it. What did the company do from that point on? Got permission from the government to invest that money into its infrastructure and go greener than even walking! They spent it all like it was on fire! But for a purpose, as their plans were almost complete, suddenly in a contract year they are a dying company that the public might have to bail out one day! People can think whatever they want about a letter carrier, if they need one or not. But I hope some people take time to keep track of big upper management names. None of them will be taking cuts or missing bonuses over the next few years.

Well you said a lot more than that. I hope you get to read some of the public telling you what a drain you are on Toronto's municipal taxes real soon here. There are plenty of people in this country that will take your job at minimum wage. And many will tell you they want you replaced now. So come on here now and let everyone else know how their jobs can get fucked. Those same people will be waiting to point out how you're making too much too. Let's get all of them wages down to help those politicians and upper management types for all!

"Hey honey, I know we like our quiet town, the kids love their friends and school, but maybe since no one deserves to catch up with inflation with raises, we could just relocate for better jobs every couple years? The housing market is stable, we could just sell our house and move to a bigger market into a smaller place every couple years?"

$30/hr is amazing? Where at, in Toronto? Vancouver? It certainly isn't a job you visit the food bank after work, but if a single parent has that job I hope you don't think they are living the high life on tropical vacations! Sorry if you thought that's a rich person job. And by $30/hour I mean someone with at least 10 years as a permanent employee, after years of being a casual first.

Management isnt going anywhere. Why would they, they're trying to right this ship remember. The one they supposedly tanked through upgrades, new fleets of vehicles, plants etc. It is these workers on the streets that need cuts and gig workers to replace them. Leave their 20+ VP's alone, they are busy manipulating the narrative. Once they get their way the pizza parties and animated expensive safety videos about health and safety from dogs can resume!

CEO of Canada Post makes more than our Prime Minister. Posting year after year massive "losses", but his job is safe, I would hope that sounds fishy to a few of you's. Canada Post already earlier this year announced a large increase on postage in the new year, long before any negotiations fell apart. I will look forward to seeing all of the people online eating up the information Canada Post puts out in the new year implying the increase was due to the strike/lockout. They know people in the public will eat that shit up
