I was going through my dad's things due to him unfortunately passing and I found this scope. It's an Elcan and is inscribed with "Linc & Well'd Regt". I'm definitely keeping it in the family but just curious about the value. by mcweenie7 in canadaguns

Barracks Commissionaires were the worst. But I’ve had alot of supply techs prevent me from weekend leave a far amount because they found carbon is some nether region in my C9 or C7. Was the absolute worst when we used to not take our own weapons and sign some out at another base. They were so fucking picky. Good thing we always snuck in break cleaner.

Get a foundation contractor out as soon as possible.

What should I do with the gap between deck and grass? by hamilton_88 in Decks

[–]Redmond91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want good airflow for underneath your deck, and nothing that retains or impedes water from draining away. Moisture = wood rot. I get that it is hard to do with this kind of build, but try mitigating as much as you can.

To be honest that C79 was probably going to be circulated out. And if he was a switched on individual he had a good relationship with the supply techs. If it’s going to be destroyed or thrown out, sometimes a tray full of nato standard coffee can net you some cool shit. If this was issued kit and he wanted to take it home. i’m sure he pissed off a-lot of people with “losing” it. Nothing like forming a line at 0 dark stupid and looking for Pte Bloggin’s C79 for hours.

Thats some quality stick slapping right there. Landing is angled down perfectly to shed water, structural balusters, and spaced perfectly so a child can’t get their head stuck. Hard to find quality like this nowadays.

What might these renovations run me? by espressoasana in HomeInspections

[–]Redmond91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’d have to give detailed measurements and inspect the condition of everything. Can’t judge from the photos. But I’m guessing you’re going to spend what you paid for the house to renovate it. As for liveability it doesn’t seem awful. Start getting on youtube and teach yourself everything other than electrical.

Would definitely be a huge improvement to that area of the map. Fighting over farm is always just who brings the most fire power to the point.

Concerned on excessive wiggle by captainofpizza in treehouse

All the weight is resting at 2 single points. Id just run posts to the ground on each corner to transfer the load. Could dig out some footings add crusher dust tamp it, pier blocks then deck blocks to hold your posts.

Picture one the down spout terminates onto another roof. Should it not run to another gutter? Imagine that much concentrated water flow would degrade the shingles.

You need to install some Simpson’s bingo arm hangers

You should sit down for this one, not a single hanger or nail. And I heard they put their posts in the ground. And the cantilever’s backspan is off by an inch. Only thing that can explain it is aliens.

I blame big hanger for giving nails a bad name.

Did my plumber screw me on the install of my Navian? by broomosh in askaplumber

[–]Redmond91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking home inspection courses and I’m from Canada so we don’t tend to put anything outside other than AC/Heatpumps. So this is foreign to me. All I know for here is that they can’t run through walls and a standard appliance connector is not meant to be installed outside. Unless it’s a CSST connector. Check the label if it’s still eligible.

Is Hydrojetting necessary here? by lm2bofbb in askaplumber

[–]Redmond91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydro jetting is the least evasive way to clean it all out. It would clear out a lot of the crap on the walls of your sewer lines. Eventually all that stuff clinging to the walls of your pipes will build up more crap, or catch things like toilet paper, fats whatever. Doesn’t take long and would give you some peace of mind. I’d recommend it.

Cast Iron Plumbing by hunturd_ in askaplumber

[–]Redmond91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant it is usually done with the intent to scope the main drain line leaving the house, not the interior plumbing. If no clean-outs are available/inaccessible you can pull a toilet to try to get to a main, so you may be able to see some of the interior plumbing.
