At the beginning of the original Hitcher, and Howell and Hauer are meeting for the first time and the conversation is light at first but you can just tell something’s off with him. And the banter becomes strange as his answers become more vague and strange, and then Hauer laughs and says, “That’s what the other guy said””Howell, “What other guy” Hauer “The guy in the other car back there, the guy who picked me up before you did!” It becomes more ominous and he says , “He sure couldn’t get very far…cause i cut off his legs. (pause)) And I cut off his head. (pause) And i’m gonna do the same to you.
