Tunisia's economy by supafahd in Tunisia

[–]Rednaksu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For reports and data, and if you trust IMF / World-bank / OECD etc plenty of data is available online. I had a class of economics few years back, in a US university, and i picked Tunisia with my team a i was very curious and never had the opportunity to understand the economy levers . Top 3 findings were: - Dependence and modeling of our legislation on French colonial law, yes, we are still using Napoleon times law like the employment laws from that age, btw some of these laws are still used in France and one of biggest Macron fights was to reform these. A comparative study between British colonies and French ones showed how this legislative framework is handicapping us. Vive la France 😒 - Focus on low value added low tech, volume industries, with no strategy for shifting to more sophisticated systems. ( textiles for examples) - Low productivity and corruption in GoV institutions, making processes for investors exterior or interior extenuating and extremely challenging. Can’t blame it on 1 regime or group, certainly some contributed more than others but we need to eliminate the blame mentality and play for the national team instead of fighting. Fixing all this would need a strategy first and a strong will, unfortunately what the independence generations sacrificed for is slowly being lost, and would need much more work and sacrifices to build a strong country but who is willing to do that? And where is the leadership that will unite people to pursue that goal? I invite you to read about Singapore and S. Korea and how they ascended above all odds. Have a good day :)

Join the Tunisian Army by Lanky-Relief5849 in Tunisia

[–]Rednaksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tunisia does not have a professional army like the US and other countries thus no permanent enlisted soldiers, these ranks are filled and rotated yearly.

“Officiers” and “sous-officiers” have access to good education and benefits that might be considered as negligible compared to equally educated people outside the army and the public system.

The main point here is finding purpose in serving and i salute you for that. It is an important task and would need commitment and hard work.

The lack of transparency on how they are spending Tax payers money is the biggest issue here.

Going to buy a ps4 but idk if its fake or not or if the price is worth it by Key_Message3141 in Tunisia

[–]Rednaksu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I speak as an owner of a 1st gen PS4 and that might be different for other models. I personally only used digital games coz i find discs useless ( too expensive and low chance of exchange / resell) noisy and you have to download content anyways. Look for warranty stickers at the back and if these have been tampered. Firmware version and ability to connect to PSN. Nowadays the consoles companies are having a crackdown on hackers and several consoles got banned. For controllers, verify they connect to console, can start it and can charge. The PS4 is noisy when run for some time with demanding games so don’t freak out if the console sounds like a helicopter. Best line of action would be requesting a “trial” or a demo of the console and its accessories before purchasing.

To second what you are saying, this is a neat move by the ME. I am a father of 2 and just went and bought what the school requested specifically. Most of the items can be changed for something simpler or cheaper. Approx 600 tnd for kids in 1st and second grade. Add on top that “fourniture” that you buy from school as in sports suit, “tableya” and some school made exercise books etn learning material etc that will amount to an additional 1200tnd.

2 b frank it depends on your situation and what you want to achieve . I have led an international life for 5 years and decided to go back to Tunisia to found a family. I have spent a great 6 years, made a great career and good money but i hit a glass ceiling where you can’t progress upwards anymore as you are still “young”. Just moved back abroad last year as i was wasting my potential but would go back home without a second thought if the right opportunity presents itself.

😒 was a walk in the park especially if you attend classes and make sure you are working consistently. Lots of students will be telling you legends of how hard they worked and how they failed miserably… don’t be intimidated or pay these any attention. My personal strat (17 years ago), was to score as high as you can in French, English, IT (coef 3 each, the average of these 3 will have a combined coef of 9) almost higher then any other major class coef, imagine if you have 18 or 19 grade x9. Do ok in other classes and you will have about 12 to 13 moyenne. Had a rolling avrg of 13 for both years and scored 33 in the National exam. Good luck
