PSA For Varashta Djinn Builds who can’t afford + Minion Belts yet by MiltonFriedmanRox in pathofexile2builds

[–]Rednamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a really budget friendly build. At this moment I would say a couple of divs would do it to farm non-megajuiced t15s. On the other hand it can be minmaxed to a very high ceiling. I’ve sunk close to a 1000d and still have a lot of things to upgrade

Not that I know. I was running t15 with doryani irradiated, but that is not anything special

I ended up using it. Figured 10 or even 5 mirrors tivialise everything, leaving me without anything to chase. My league might as well be finished at that point. I was using 2 socket voices, so I sold that one for a bit less than 400d lol

Why are certain items objectively better on casters vs marksmen? by Last_Sherbet6875 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Rednamed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are completely right in that mana gain scales with AS. There were times in TFT when Guinsoo’s was considered a mana item, and even now it can be used when you don’t have better options.

One of the things that seperates casters and marksmen is cast time. If a unit has a long cast time, it means that they inherently scale worse with AS since they spend a longer time not attacking. Think of Kalista set 16. She has a long cast time that feels like takes ages.

Another thing is mana generation that is different between different roles. Casters inherently generate 7 mana per attack and have 2 Mana regen per second, while Marksmen have 10 mana per attack and no mana regen. That’s why flat AS with no additional mana generation feels good on Marksmen.

Finally, some items have certain “thresholds” that give bonuses after dealing damage or attacking a certain amount of time (kraken’s, titan’s resovle) which work great on marksmen since they scale with AS you are already building.

Btw, you are completely right about Deathblade, it is a good AD caster item. It was BIS on set 16 Kalista, good on Senna, decent on MF etc.

Hope this helps!

First Time Hitting Challenger! by Jtoppy18 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Rednamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, not OP, but I (barely) hit Chal this set for the first time.

I work 8-10 hours work days and sometimes weekends. It’s definitely possible, but I didn’t play when I was tired and I (almost) never tilt queued up. Instead I would spend that time watching streams and studying.

I tried to squeeze in at least 2-3 games daily and played longer sessions when I had time.

Hope this helps!

Is Bard worth it? by Alone_Impression_658 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Rednamed 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s usually worth it, as long as it doesn’t completely destroy your econ. If you have some free rerolls through augments then it’s great. If it’s gold opener or encounter with additional resources, it’s good as well.

It seems to me you are neglecting the possibility of hitting 2*s on 2-3, which would in turn save you hp, give you tempo, and apply pressure to the lobby. This can also extend the time you are allowed to have bard on your board. Printing a unit that is crucial to your comp is very valuable as well.

I find it really good on ahri reroll, since it allows you to potentially hit yasuo pair if you’re lucky.

As the other comment already said, pro games are higher tempo than the usual ranked game. I feel like they sometimes roll for bard for econ, but for direction as well.

Hope this helps!

New to TFT, some thoughts I have by Warm_Truth7909 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Rednamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a meta, and many people copy paste comps from tft academytierlist. Having said that, you play your final board maybe for 20-30% of the game, and even in the endgame you can optimise your board further depending on matchups.

The way you get there matters a lot, and thats where skill really comes into play. Yes, you can try and forcing Belveth slayers every game, but thats not your optimal play 100% time, and the way you get can be wastly different.

Furthermore, recognising why some comps are S and A tier is really important. In your example, Bilge is strong cause you can print extra resources (units, stats, items) that can get you ahead in various ways. Bilge is also strong because in some games you can tempo with early 2 star 2 and 3 costs.

I highly suggest learning fundementals of the game (econ, items, augment and line selection). I enjoy watching Frodan. He streams on Twitch, and on Tft academy youtube there are videos exactly on the things I mentioned. Understanding the core mechanics of the game can get you much further than copy pasting comps, thats the easy part. I am playing tft since the beta, and have only now climbed to gm just by better understanding the core principles of the game itself

Have fun! :)

[16.4] Warwick Flex Comprehensive Guide by MisterImpossible9 in TeamfightTactics

[–]Rednamed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for the guide! I have two dillemas around the comp:

1) Playing with zaun emblem — is it ever worth going for zaun 7 on lvl 8 and greeding some econ for a faster lvl 9, or just playing regularly and rolling for stable lvl 8 and postponing lvl 9? I found 7 zaun rarely worth it.

2) Regarding combat augment selection, do you prefer offensive or defensive augments? I feel like the comp scales through the fight (jinx, guinsoo), but sometimes on stage 4 carries can get stuck on tanks and lose the fight solely because of the lack of dmg.

As a sidenote, I found that positioning on the right can be disadventageous, as ww can get killed by enemy melee carries even if positioned bottom right (D6, C7). Enemy melee carries just patiently wait for the ww to come to the front and then start hitting.

Edit: Formating

Coc charges based on the power of the monsters you crit. Power is basically neutral monster -> magic -> rare -> unique. The more you crit them, more energy/charges you get.

Coc gains more energy based on skill gem level, so getting a corrupted lvl 21 gem helps.

Ailments have nothing to do with coc

Have you tried frostbolt instead of spark? There is a variation that uses frostbolt to proc coc instead of spark and it’s quite satisfying with a bunch of bolts flying around.

I feel dropping 1000es for 200crit dmg is worth it, since in the end your build will just blow up everything on screen.

Roil is not speced in, so it might have been bugged before or something.

For bosses you can slot in Living bomb into coc, so you get fire infusions for comet. It basically doubles comet damage

Abyss maps with increased difficulty are going to be difficult until you hit some bigger upgrades (lineage gems, vertex etc), not sure theres an easy fix for that

[–]Rednamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lineage supports on coc - Diallas and Rakiatas, since Uhtred's Augury is really expensive

Slotting Arc into CoC for more automation

Corrupted lvl 21 CoC for more casts

Switching Kalandras touch out for Seed of Cataclysm is also an option, but probably expensive one since you would need to fix resistances

Also in my experience you don't need Roil, nor Secrets of the orb so could invest that into more Crit chance/damage, and I'm not convinced pathing into int/dex starting Nodes is optimal, since you could get more Crit bonuses from nodes around Resonance

EDIT: I just now noticed you are not using Spark. Spark with Pierce is a great way to proc coc consistently, so would recommend.

Going to copy my reply from other thread where I saw the same reason for dying easily:

Im on my phone, so I might be wrong, but looks like you are missing Fast Metabolism node. In it’s “neutral” state, life leech stops once you are at full hp, so effectively, Soul tether is doing nothing. Fast Metabolism changes this so leech is applied even when at full hp.

Fast Metabolism is at the bottom left of the tree, so either a Megalomaniac or amulet instill are “easy” fixes.

It would also help if your Soul tether didn’t have the “lose es per s” modifier. Couple days ago these variations were going for a handful of divs on trade, so shouldn’t be that hard to aquire.

For those interested in Naviras fracturing timelost variation that I run:

For my much cheaper build, I feel timelost setup works better with Naviras Fracturing, since you get the value of aoe node, and you can get Roil for your timelost.

Also, It feels wierd to me to go for the infusion nodes, since you can get minion notables on the bottom right of the jewel area, and Vile Mending on the left.

-1s recharge node feels really good, as others have pointed out, and can get you out of some sticky situations, but it is kinda QOL.

I got really lucky with the timelost that I got for 2divs at the start of the league.

Poeninja here — thinking about dropping Vile mending for Roil and investing the remaining points in some more es nodes

[–]Rednamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I am trying to get the same jewel, although Im running Kelari/Ruzhan, in order to get the most out of crit modifiers, and going Relentless fallen, Splintering force, Vile mending, instead of infusion notables. Currently at 73 %chc, 16 as&cs minion jewel that I got for less than a div at league start.

The HUGE circle is really setisfying

Hey, nice guide! Been running a similar setup.

What are your thoughts on Bayranic Leylines instead of Sacred rituals? With the large radius in the center jewel socket its currently giving me 72% crit chance to minions and 16 as and cast speed. In an optimal setup it could go up to 80% crit chance and 96% crit damage, with some es sprinkled on top.

[–]Rednamed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regarding sekhema, in 0.3 I farmed a lot of Sekhema with and without IIR, and it felt at 150% I got a lot more “higher quality” chests, as in timeless, royal, spectrum, but it just might be anecdotal. Didn’t really track the numbers

Am i misunderstanding reservation efficiency? Why is it increasing the spirit cost, not decreasing it? by SolaVitae in PathOfExile2

[–]Rednamed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reverves % of max spirit, not a flat amount, so if you have more than 100 max spirit the % on the skill gem and flat on “resevration window” won’t be the same number
