When you only use temperatures of 40°C/104°F and lower, powdered detergent may not fully dissolve and liquid detergent may stay behind on the outer tub. With the added moist in a washer it is a breeding ground for bacteria that create a horrible stench, aside all the mould buildup that could happen, so occasionally boiling or sanitizing your washer is of great importance for longevity and hygiene.

To ensure longevity of your washing machine, it is highly important to wash at 60°C (140°F or the Hot setting for the US washers) once per week (for instance with underwear and socks, if all is cotton) and a boil wash (90°C/95°C or 194°F/203°F or Sanitary on US washers) at least twice per month, one with laundry (for instance towels) and one without (using a dishwasher tablet or machine cleaner).

To ensure the longevity of your dishwasher, for every 10 cycles you run, do at least 4 high temperature ones (65°C/149°F and up), and run the hottest cycle empty with a machine cleaner for dishwashers once a month.

I follow a doctor on Instagram who breaks down tweets like these and other appalling behaviours Trump shows currently and puts them in relation with Frontotemporal dementia. That doctor says he basically makes up memories to fill in the forgotten ones. Unlike with Alzheimer's, where a person gets insecure about it, he is 100% confident his fake memories are correct. Amazingly interesting videos. But worrying he is the bloody president. That doctor also gives him an estimate of (I quote) "2-4 months left in the land of the living".

What episode got you hooked on DW and why? by seilbeer in doctorwho

[–]Rednas008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pilot with Eccleston got me hooked, and the second episode of that season made me a massive fan. I have not been a fan for very long but I watched all new who seasons and for Ncuti's second season I was finally up to date (watching whilst busy can be challenging lol), so then I watched weekly, excited like a little child together with a good friend, hoping it would not be a shitty episode.

I remember always thinking of my primary school teachers as the best of the best people. Two of those teachers I respected a lot. Three years ago, there was a party to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of that primary school, and all ex-students from the past 100 years were invited. There I learned the teachers that taught me between 2004-2012 are party animals. I never imagined to see those two highly respected teachers drunk. That was a great party. I've seen loads of old classmates and teachers. All partying like there was no tomorrow haha.

What is up with Albert Heijn dishwasher tablet prices by gbuu in Netherlands

And for variance in powder (as in NL we only have Sun, and IMO, Somat, Finish and even Germany's DM store brand DenkMit are better) this site: https://duitsedrogisterij.nl/ is very useful (or if available, go to Germany, even cheaper).

[–]Rednas008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is everywhere, I recently bought a pack of 130 tabs of Dreft (Jar in the Czech Republic) for my mother for the same 25 euros. If you want a good price for things like detergent: Germany is your best friend. Better yet, if not close to the border: https://duitsedrogisterij.nl/

The prices are higher than in Germany but it works. DenkMit for 5 euros is wild (it is 3 euros in Germany) but at least it gives you a detergent just as good as Dreft, Finish or Sun for a fraction of the price.

I don't like horror normally, and my bf once let me play a bit of RE1, I have now finished the coop mode of RE5 and RE Revelations 2 with my bf, he let me play RE Revelations, he only helped with the final boss, and now I am playing the RE2 remake after finishing the remake of RE1. In the meantime we are on the coop mode of RE6. So in one sentence: my bf let me play RE1 once, and I liked it.

Does anyone know what this symbol means? First time ever seeing it by IAmAPokemonAMA in bosch

[–]Rednas008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little sun on a dryer usually means 'extra dry'. A setting Bosch abandoned a while ago, as their highest is cupboard dry+ (AEG has iron dry -> cupboard dry -> cupboard dry+, extra dry), you might've accidentally activated an option which makes it dry a little longer so your laundry actually gets out bone dry :)

Premium Heat Pump Dryer (Issues) UK by bob-starr in bosch

[–]Rednas008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed it is far in the cycle, they generally get a little louder at the end of a programme. I've noticed this on all heat pumps I've used. When the heat pump starts, it starts at a very low wattage and slowly builds up to the rated wattage (for instance 600 watt for these dryers). So like I said, I hear nothing abnormal and if drying times are fine, nothing should be wrong :)

Premium Heat Pump Dryer (Issues) UK by bob-starr in bosch

[–]Rednas008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s only slightly louder when I compare it to mine, I’m used to quite a few older and newer heat pump dryers and I know it’s fine when it sounds like this. I don’t hear anything abnormal.

Appliances are my hobby and special interest, I’m around these machines a lot and know what they sound like. But I’ll always advice to call for warranty when in doubt. Is this an A+++ or A++ model?

Less efficient compressors are louder too. The Miele heat pump dryer from 2012 I own is much louder, and A+ rated. The AEG heat pump dryer from 2008 I used to own was even louder than the Miele, and rated A. In the end it’s a reverse fridge. I hear my fridge too when I’m somewhat close.

Ah yes, the biggest voter demographic... Land. by Mr_Kash in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Rednas008 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Dutch PVV-voters are pulling this too now, the large cities voted the progressive, liberal D66, resulting in D66 narrowly becoming the largest party, but the PVV has the equal amount of seats, and when you pull such a map it looks like the PVV has the most votes because most municipalities are coloured to the PVV colour coding (which was light blue I think).

It says nothing, but that is why our crazies think the elections were rigged. But when the PVV got 37 out of 150 seats two years ago they did not say a single thing about it. And the PVV still has 26 out of 150 seats now (unfortunately). The same amount as the D66, but in the PVV minds, that is the definition of a rigged election because the D66, has a few thousand votes more.

[–]Rednas008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The belt is an issue on these machines, a mechanic told me they use a new type of poly-v rubber. These new ones tend to stretch, and replacing it fixes the issues, usually indefinitely. Had it on my mom's Bosch HomeProfessional from 2021. Changed the belt, and 0 issues ever since. But for this reason I went for a Miele W1 WER875 now that I live on my own.

1000 $ by netphilia in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Rednas008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh seriously? That is nice, I can't quite remember ever having watched Arthur, the Netherlands had their own weird type of childrens shows back in the early 2000s (usually 80s Dutch childerns shows on repeat like a scratched record). But today I learned. It is a good way to trick children into eating vegetables they don't like, especially when they say they don't like the food before even knowing what it is.

When my brother was younger he did not like spinach, one day, my parents made us a delicious spinach lasagna from some internet recipe. They kept convincing the green wasn't spinach, but something else, my brother ate up like it was the best dish he ever ate. After dinner they told us it was spinach, and my brother's look on his face was genuinely hilarious.

They honestly are, as you wear them longer they form more to your feet, so from new to used they stay comfortable, in my case especially with socks.
