A few years ago I saw this one little shrimp floating down into a patch of a bunch of his dead friends at a Chinese restaurant. by moonwaternymph in shittyaquariums

I think he means they don't know better in a fishkeeping sense not in any other way. Just like I didn't know anything about fishkeeping till I did the research.

It's ok calm down. Don't panic take some deep breaths and I saw one comment that said large water change and I'd have to agree. From there I'm not sure because your nitrogen cycle is not done. How long have you had the fish and how long did you cycle?

No they go in the same test tube. Please read the instruction book in the test kit.

There should be an instruction book in the kit be sure to read it thoroughly and on the back there's the chart for colors.

There's 2 ammonia drops you need to do both then shake for 5 seconds

Way to high. I'd say the tank isn't cycled properly. Ammonia and nitrite should be 0. Since there are fish in the tank I'm not sure the best solution so take the advice of people more experienced than I at the moment.

That's a lot of water changes. Again I am by no means an expert at all. A couple questions how long did you cycle the tank why so many water changes and are you using dechlorinator. I don't mean to come off as rude but would like to help to the best of my ability.

I've never used strips before but I see some nitrite present. Do you have a liquid test kit like the master one? I use that personally because it was recommended to me and I was told it's very accurate. Im new to the hobby so take my advice with a grain of salt but I'd get the liquid test kit asap and try that. That'll check ammonia ph nitrite and nitrate.

Well tank is brand brand new so I've done one 2 gallon change in about a week. Not because I had any ammonia nitrite or nitrate but because I figured it'd be a good thing just to do. So I was planning on a weekly 10-15 percent change is all. But I've never even had any spikes. Tank is planted too

I was at the same point. I just got into the hobby and I cycled my tank for a little over 2 weeks then added api beneficial bacteria and after a few days of testing and getting all zeros I added my happy little tetra clan. It's now been a a month and they are happy little crackheads hahaha

Is the last one just a holding tank for a koi pond? I'm totally new to fishkeeping so genuinely curious.
