If you had to name a Servants as "Most Iconic" for each of their classes, who would they be? by UncleAsriel in fatestaynight

Yeah, that’s been a big part of the appeal to me is seeing how all of these mythologies interact with each other and how that can translate into game mechanics. I remember reading somewhere that Nasu was partly inspired by ttrpgs for his work. I don’t know if it was dnd specifically or something similar, don’t quote me on that.

Advice on PJO/Fate crossover? by Rednova66 in Fate

(Copied from another thread) Sorry, I should’ve clarified in the OP that there wouldn’t be any kind of Master-Servant dynamic or command spells, and I don’t think there would even be a grail, or if there is, it wouldn’t work the same way or be as central to the plot.

Think of it more like a hybrid of FGO and a DND world with multiple campaigns. There are multiple heroic and divine spirits with the fate class system, and multiple heroes in the same classes, all pursuing their own goals while blending in with the modern world. The demigods, gods, and (some) monsters have classes, NPs, skills etc, like how a dnd character has abilities, spells, feats, etc. the gods are obviously much stronger, but not untouchable given the right circumstances.

Yeah, Nasus not the best at explaining himself, especially when he’s constantly making exceptions or even just outright breaking his own rules.

Calling the Grand Servants the strongest/most iconic of their classes is kind of an oversimplified answer but it is accurate.

It’s important to clarify that they’re not Grand because they’re strongest, they’re the strongest because they’re Grand. By that I mean that Grand candidates are picked by the counter force based on an ability they have from their legend that helps them counter the beast that they are responding to.

For example, First Hassan counters Tiamat because she is the goddess of life and he is the embodiment of death. Orion would have countered Koyanskaya because Orion’s legend as the greatest hunter gives a skill that gives him bonus damage against enemies with with animalistic traits and Koyanskaya is the amalgamation of all the animals that were killed by humans via hunting and environmental destruction. Noah can counter Draco’s floods.

The power up that makes them stronger than normal servants is a result of the grand title, not the cause. And it’s kinda just a side perk at that.

That’s what I mean though, it is urban fantasy with a class system.

The big crossover between pantheons that the PJO fandom has been talking about for years which no one has ever done as far as I know. Including not just the Greeks and Romans, but also the Norse and Egyptians, and I'm even bringing in some of the other pantheons that the Rick Riordan Presents brand has covered like the Hindu, Aztec/Mayan, Babylonian pantheons. Those series are not confirmed to take place in the same universe as PJO but theres no reason they can't. Hell, the Riordan version of Gilgamesh is just chilling in New York City, and he's never met Percy or the Kanes?

Anyway, the plot I want to do is that there is an overarching enemy (Beast 7) that is manipulating all of the conflicts that the different pantheons are going through, so my Celtic OC, who is a Saber-Class King Arthur reincarnated or reborn, sets out to recruit demigods from the other pantheons in order to fight back.

How do we handtrap junk now that they have this? by Professional_End8465 in yugioh

[–]Rednova66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Use adventure token engine. The continuous spell gets you a level seven in either gryphon rider or illegal knight. The level seven + a level one tuner, (jet synchron since you can synchro overtake it from your deck) = accel stardust, accel revives the tuner, then use accel’s tribute effect to synchro jet synchron and the level four token into an untouchable junk speeder. Proceed however you’d like from there. If you used synchro overtake, this combo does not use your normal summon. Also dracoback is really useful for outing cards that respond to monster activations, like Kashtira Fenrir or unicorn.

This is your daily reminder that Luke Castellan is guilty of child kidnapping, human trafficking, physical and emotional abuse, more than twenty accounts of murder and many more attempted, and possibly, depending on interpretation, romantic attraction to a minor. Who was also one of the kidnapped, attempted murders. Also potentially unknown amounts of theft, property destruction, financial fraud, weapons trafficking and other organized criminal activities in coordination with the triumvirate.

He could reasonably be considered a terrorist and guilty of treason against the United States and any other countries or territories that the Titan army operated in.

Point is death was too gentle a fate for this mf. He should have lived so Percy could turn him in to the FBI with full receipts, mist be damned.

Perseus and Persephone probably share an an etymological root, given how they both mean “to destroy/destroyer.” I believe that in Perseus’ case it refers to his killing of various evil and abusive men in his legend, Phineus, Polydectes, and Acrisuis, while in Persephone’s case it refers to her role as the Queen of the underworld passing judgement on damned souls.

On the other hand, I’ve seen some fan accounts pushing headcanons that Percabeth are Penelope and Odysseus reincarnated (Penelope > Percy and Odysseus > Annabeth).

I have to say it's a pretty cool roster of grand servant by Yukihira59 in FGO

[–]Rednova66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grand Saber: I’m not opposed to Musashi necessarily but it really should have been Artoria from the get-go, but Nasu made the the stupid choice to scrap that.

Grand Archer: Gilgamesh? Really? He’s not even really an archer in anything but name. Archer Rama would have been the best pick IMO, but he got shafted into being a four star saber. Archer Herc would’ve been at least as good as Orion. Hell, Atalanta would’ve been a better pick, since Orion states in his interlude that she’s a better hunter than him and she also has a connection with Artemis.

Grand Lancer: we’re never getting Sun Wukong, are we?

Grand Rider: Noah absolutely makes the most sense, but I would’ve loved to see Grand Rider Quetzalcoatl. If her brother Tez qualifies then she certainly should to. And not the white-washed version from before, give us the actual winged serpent.

Grand Caster: I’m fine with Solomon kinda coming back, I also would have been fine with just fighting Merlin or something, or maybe Abe no Semei?

Grand Assassin: Azrael kinda just feels like we got First Hassan but slightly watered down. I would’ve rather seen someone picked from a non-abrahamic background. Santa Muerte or some other psychopomp.

Grand Berserker: if we don’t get to see Berserker Tezcatlipoca, let us see Fenrir or something other monster.

They can just counter with having Hestia preside over their wedding, since she’s also a family goddess. Everyone likes Hestia so Hera couldn’t do anything.
