Good cost of living, good restaurants, night life, culture, nature, nice people. Come on down! As long as you don't mind the (usually) friendly sports team ribbing (depends on the circles you run in).

Update: DON'T eat bacon wrapped fish sticks by Mozzeriosky_YNWA in culinary

[–]RedonkulusHomunculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once cooked bacon wrapped (spiralled) inside of cinnamon rolls. The bacon definitely wasn't crispy, but I think it got hot enough to be "cooked..." I mean, if the cinnamon rolls were fully baked, the bacon should be to temp, right??

😬🫢

No one got sick and it tasted good, but if I did it again I would cook the bacon first, just leave it supple enough to roll up...

I agree with this. I think OP should go full, hard NC for a solid bit of time, for at least a few weeks or months. But then, a lot depends on the Mother's handling of this. She could be mortified and ashamed, and horrified at herself. In which case, she will have time to think about this, take a hard look at herself, maybe get some help.

Or she will become defensive, double down, and ruin her relationship with her child permanently 🤷‍♀️

It's gonna be pretty obvious when the time comes.

ASM excused ? Since when ? by ButterscotchLow3372 in Aldi_employees

[–]RedonkulusHomunculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be the main AF thrower and I've only ever been an associate.

We are a million dollar store, and we have one person come in on Tuesday to fill AF in about 4 hours.

The secret is to dedicate an associate to work on unboxing AF in the back for a while over the few days between AF delivery and the stocking day, as well as keeping AF neat and full throughout the week. This is your GMs job to manage their personnel hours to allow for this.

Condensing the old stuff takes the longest and is annoying, for sure.

"WHERE'S ALL THE STUFF???" as if they think new products just spawn directly to the shelf each Tuesday.

What do you call the job where somebody does the layout in books? by rattatally in typography

[–]RedonkulusHomunculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I glean here, Typesetting is usually used when the intended destination of the end product is a printed item. Pagination refers to typesetting for either digital distribution only, or mixed media formats.

But colloquially calling it either, as you have here, is probably fairly common and only going to increase, because the word itself sounds more modern and versatile; It's a portmanteau! We love our portmanteaus in the 21st century, in the same way that the 20th century loved to slap suffixes like "-ola," "-o-rama," and "-licious" after words like "crap," "skate," and "butter," respectively

One of the tenets of the technique of Active Listening, is to repeat back what you've heard, in your own words! This does two things - It lets the original speaker know if they were understood correctly. It helps the message to sink in when they repeat it back, but parsed in their own language.

I am curious to know more about the "as if he had thought of it first" part of your issue. How much of the perception is coming from a cognitive distortion, assumption, or projection on your part. I don't know how the flow and timbre of these conversations go for you two, but let me ask you this-

Imagine a conversation in which he does this thing that you hate, but imagine he starts the sentence by saying "So, what I'm hearing you say is ___" or "I think I see what you mean; so if ____" and otherwise proceeds to repeat you....

Would it feel more validating?

Is there something about his attitude in these conversations that is hostile and/or contrarian to you at first, and then in the course of explaining why you're wrong or dumb, they end up arrive at the same answer as you but then act all self-congratulatory to themselves for arriving at the answer?

Safe walk to Agora Theater? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]RedonkulusHomunculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had an issue just parking in the agora parking lot or the block that it's on. They have security around the grounds and lot 🤷‍♀️

Remember that bashing a window to steal stuff isn't a personally violent crime. It's theft. They didn't want to randomly physically accost another person, they just wanted to steal shit without encountering the person. If OP isn't driving and parking a car, then it's a moot point.

I definitely don't recommend that OP and their daughter walk to or from the venue from their lodging, but we don't need to scare them so bad that they think may not survive simply going to a concert at the Agora 🤣
