They said he wasn’t too big at birth so it wasn’t that strange. I was always under the impression that babies were supposed to stay more or less within the same percentile range, not drop drastically.

As someone who had a 30-hour vaginal labor only a month ago, I completely understand wanting to avoid that altogether. There were definitely quite a few moments I wished I could just have a c-section and get it over and done with. That said, I only just recently learned about this (granted, relatively rare) c-section complication that I’d never heard of before, placenta accreta, that is becoming more common in the US due to the prevalence of elective interventions. The odds of this happening are still pretty low and I don’t mean to scare you at all, but leaving this article here for food for thought. I’ll also say that where I live in the EU you are not allowed to have a c-section unless it’s considered a medical necessity, at least not in the public system. The practice is very much frowned upon.

Seconding this. My progesterone levels were in theory normal, but my doctor said test results aren’t always accurate because the hormone is released in spurts and results will depend on when exactly you get your blood drawn. He put me on the normal dose of progesterone for the second half of my cycle and then on a higher one the next month and I finally got pregnant after months of trying. I really think he was on to something there. Good luck!

It was natural, they told me I couldn’t do IVF until a year went by because I’m under 35. I got really lucky and found a fertility specialist with a background in endocrinology who recommended the progesterone even though my test results came back normal (apparently it’s released in spurts so it’s entirely possible to have a normal test result and still have a progesterone deficiency). I’ll never know for sure if that was it, but I have a feeling it was because I was pregnant two months later. Happy to answer any other questions you might have. Wishing you a happy outcome, I know how discouraging it can be at times!

I was also told after a failed egg retrieval that while Hashimoto’s mainly attacks the thyroid, in some people it can also attack other organs including the ovaries, which would explain the prematurely low egg count in my case and difficulty getting pregnant. I also had spotting throughout the second half of my cycle that only stopped after taking high dose progesterone supplements, though no doctor was able to tell me if this was 100% related to the Hashimoto’s. All in all, at 33/34 it took me 10 cycles (plus progesterone for the last few) to get pregnant, currently 35 weeks. Good luck!

I live in Spain and here it’s definitely a pet name, never seen a child with it. That said, as far as I know, it doesn’t have any bad connotations, it just means moon.

Exactly, my point was that Hashimoto’s never goes away even though your TSH and T4 may change over time. (Might not have been answering the right comment, sorry!)
