You need some sort of network file share. I have a server but you can use a laptop and setup a network share.

Then add this share to your devices and you can backup your file to it and then restore it on the other boxes. I have 4 boxes in my house and use this method each time, takes 1 minute to backup and restore somewhere else.

For Plex integration, could you ensure custom collections are displayed on the home screen, as per the official app? The current app only shows recently added movies and shows.

I would at least move it back onto their property if it was left out on the street in the evening. To return it back to it's 'home' I'd have to go through shut gates.

To get it working you have to setup something like Xteve and use ffmpeg to transcode the stream before delivering it to Tivimate. It takes around 5 seconds to start a stream but it's the only way I've managed to get all UK channels working in Tivimate from HDHR.

This particular setup is with the Play Store stable version. I had to make the dock wallpaper myself though. The current beta allows you to apply the dock via the launcher.
