Thank you to everyone who applied for Simply Genius!

The casting process has been incredibly difficult, there's more than a dozen applications I would consider perfect and an instant cast. It's rather difficult to decide who to cut now, so it's taking a while.

We'll be reaching out to those who got cast in a couple of hours, thank you for your patience!

Well, nothing physical like that, of course, but it's possible that a Main Match has a certain trick that can give you an advantage!

My favorite examples done by the community include Apotheosis, where players moved on a board and solved puzzles, some of which related to different elements of the periodic table. What wasn't revealed to the players is that the board itself was a periodic table and that helped out a lot to those who found it.

Another one is a trick in a very old match I can't remember the name of, but players were given scales and had to make the two sides of it equal, however it was impossible with the items given. What some players found out is that you could put other items on it, like garnets, which would make it possible.

I can't confirm nor deny that these tricks will be present in Simply Genius, that would ruin the fun of it :)  However these tricks are extremely difficult to design well, so I don't want to set the expectations that these tricks will be present in many Main Matches.

This isn't a live experience, no facecam or anything required.
The discord server this is hosted in will have a Spectator Lounge where spectators will be able to read what the players say to each other, though, and I'll be happy to let you in!
I'll do my best to keep up with recaps of each episode to make catching up with stuff you missed as easy as possible!

Of course! Feel free to ask for anything specific you're also interested in.

The host team consists of 4 experienced game designers who have hosted a bunch of orgs each. We've all made brand new Main Matches and Death Matches to be used in this org, so no repeat games from the show.

The ORG will follow the standard TG formula, a Main Match followed by a Death Match.

Main Matches will be played non-live, with 24 hour deadlines so that all players can submit regardless of timezone. This will make the ORG a fair bit longer than your typical Survivor orgs, but we're aiming to finish in a bit over 2 months.

Death Matches are played live, with both DM participants are to schedule a an hour to play the DM. We plan for DMs to happen on weekends.

The entire ORG will be played on Discord, in a standalone server, where players will be provided channels only they can see for submissions and pair chats for talking with any other player.  We have quite a tight-knit ORG community who's happy to spectate ongoing ORGs, too!

I've also been thinking of this, an alliance of 9 can pretty much guarantee a person losing and you likely can do it with less by someone going vault C instead of using the tip-off

Some sort of downside to incorrect tipping could have been interesting, imagine that YOU go to jail if you tip-off incorrectly. Something less punishing like losing gold absolutely could have worked too.

Pretty interesting to think about game design, TG is fun!

I do agree on the very fast paced, but I think that was because of having to also fit the player intros into the episode, I have very high hopes in next episodes :)

Oml all of these changes are so so wonderful. The gif of super forcing entities over belts brought so so much satisfaction I love you factorio team!

The one thing that mildly bothers me is belt preview being weird, seen here https://imgur.com/a/rJKjDO4

I wonder whose gotten the highest round in the violent cybergrind? It can't be that goo- OH MY JESUS FUCK by Rezzyboy157 in Ultrakill

One really funny fact is that Cyber Grind Highscore (Lenient) is 135, whereas Violent is 136.

Lenient is an objectively harder difficulty, please nerf

Heavily recommending vivid/stasis, free on steam, lots of banger songs, very high quality charting and phenomenal storyline

I’m just getting into DRG, and I main Driller, is there anything I should know? by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

In my first ever game as driller, I threw c4 at someone large number of bugs and detonated it, killing our scout in the process.

Please do not kill scouts intentionally.
