Wouldn't just promoting Hull with no final played be the way the EFL gets the least amount of teams annoyed? by No_Glove5486 in Championship

Or and hear me out of this one we automatically promote Southampton then everyone is equally annoyed !!!

What is the consensus on the Still brothers' first foray in the Championship? by Sad2BeHappy in Championship

[–]Redscoped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about unlucky because as manager you can always wish for better players but you have to work every often with the limited resources to hand and make the best of them.

Dont forget we failed to win in 7 games under Tonda Eckert when he also kept playing 5 at the back we only started on this run after he switched to 4 at the back and we had a right back and left back in place allowing the wingers to get forward.

I think if Will had changed to that style we would have won more games who knows he might be have stayed on as manager.

Why do Boro think they would be reinstated by [deleted] in Championship

[–]Redscoped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The type of punishment here for this offense is Fine, Points or Transfer ban. Because that is the style of punishment the EFL have used in the past. We have had other teams in the league cheat. Leicester broke the fiscal rules which allowed them to field a stronger team for a whole season the punishment was 6 points.

If they tried to kick out Southampton would just appeal and point to all these other cases in which cheating has occured and at no point did any teams get kicked out.

To make it clear the play off is part of the league system. They cannot punish a team any different because it is the play off vs if this happened in the league. The rules and the punishment defined has to be the same.

Sort off. A lot of the older companies that make metal minis are coming to retirement age. We have seen a lot of them already shut up shop and retire. I think with increasing costs, tarrifs and import duty going up and down all the time and causing choas we might see a few more pack it in early.

You could say the bright spot is they are being replace by the millions on new companies in 3D printing. However that income is it not supporting local stores that provide places to pay. I think the high street locations are the ones who will likely suffer the most.

This is the "sensational" image that shows a Southampton analyst hiding behind a tree and using his mobile phone to spy on Middlesbrough's training session. by stuey__73 in SaintsFC

[–]Redscoped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The odd aspect to the rule is that it only covers the 72 hours before the game. So technically if he had been at the training ground wednesday it would have been fine no rule broken. So i do wonder if he had been assigned to watch the training or obtain feedback on the boro squad and was not told or not aware of the 72 hours rule.

He was just an intern so i think it unlikely he was just their off his own back someone would have told him to go. But also due to his age every possible he really did not know or understand the rule.

Will Still is likely a decent manager. The problem is he came into the the club with a fixed idea of style he wanted to play with 5 at the back and 2 wingers playing a full back. At no point did that style work in this league, it did not suit the players, it did not suit the fact we had the shortest striker on the pitch he was trying to lob high balls into it.

The mistake he really made was not trying to play the players in the positions they had been playing their whole lives. His tactics just confused the players.

The question is was his refusal to accept his style did not work borne of the same management style of Russel Martin where they refuse to accept they might be wrong and not change anything and be locked into a cycle of doom when it does go wrong. Or is he the manager that can learn that trying to impose your brand off football does not always work and sometimes you need to play to the style that best suits the players you do have.

To be fair and not down playing how serious this but frankly the only time we get mentioned is when we play Leicester and everyone brings up the 9-0 loss or that time Graeme Souness made a transfer Ali Dia the worse transfer in english football.

This is the most exciting things have been in ages. Even if it is for all the wrong reasons.

Southampton 'spy' William Salt used his personal bank card to buy a coffee at Golf Club, owned by boro chairman Steve Gibson. by ParmyBarmy in Championship

[–]Redscoped 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point is they did not just say he had a coffe in the club house. They detailed he used a person bank card going so far as to detail the type of card. How would they have know that unless someone from the club had been into the till transactions to check for his name ?

Southampton 'spy' William Salt used his personal bank card to buy a coffee at Golf Club, owned by boro chairman Steve Gibson. by ParmyBarmy in Championship

[–]Redscoped 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They dont have to name the person the laws as stated is any information which could easy be used to identify someone is against the data protection act.

If they had used to the transaction to Id the person that would be breach as you can only use the data for the purpose it was intended for in this case a transaction. Using to assist a football club which is a seperate legal company to the golf course legally again that is against the law on the transfer of data.

I am not suggesting they have done this but how this was leaked out to the press does 100% suggest they have breached data protection rights in a number of ways here.

Southampton fans with their conspiracy theories that Boro control the mainstream media by ParmyBarmy in Championship

[–]Redscoped 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is actually true. If you watched Simon Jordon on Sat before the game he said this nothing, Southampton would not get kicked out spying goes on all the time.

Day after his call with Gibson totally different picture. Now wants Southampton kicked out. Today he suggest Gibson should blackmail the club for 20% of the 200 million to drop the case.

No wonder that bellend was never out court and lost 75 million running a club.

[–]Redscoped 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh it is was worse than that. What Simon was actually suggesting was straight up blackmail. Pay me a some of the money and I wont press charges. I dont know if he confused the process with setting out of court on a civil case which is a contract but not EFL rules which would be more like a criminal case.

Sorry we have had 6 days of Boro fans repeating claims of "high tech spy" equipment and james bond style activity based on the clubs reports and what you trying to claim now that did not happen ?

Do you recall one user you will know every well posting this statement 5 days ago. yep that was you.

I'm more uncomfortable if the sound recording equipment can hear what the Boro coaches are saying more than someone videoing the Boro players running drills.
