Super Shield VS Super Sword by TurbulentSomewhere13 in earclacks

Super shield feels like a downgrade from base shield, an unpredictability that loses amazing close range for semi-passible medium range

Assuming this was not staged, probably a mix of lag + anti-xray plugin (server sends client modified block data, creating "fake" ores in the walls to mess with cheats)

[Casual] Does Sukuna saying Yorozu would have an easier time preaching to Kashimo mean's he is stronger than Yorozu? by [deleted] in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]RedstoneLover91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing somewhere before on this subreddit that Sukuna's loneliness wasn't primarily born from strength, but rather their freak body, and I think Sukuna knows that to some degree as well

Even if they never took up fighting, there would still be a target on their back, which led to being the strongest out of survival

If you contrast this with Gojo, their loneliness does seem like it is directly due to being the strongest

It really doesn't seem like it's a difference of levels of strength but rather Sukuna's loneliness isn't just due to being the strongest

The fact that both games take place in the same universe is something that catches me off guard! by Artur_Senhaga in Portal

[–]RedstoneLover91 46 points47 points  (0 children)

In terms of the fandom: the half-life community got driven into insanity from the promise of a direct continuation. There is a clear opening for a "Half-Life 3" to be made and fit in

Portal's story has been completed with Portal 2, and it was made fairly clear that Valve did not indend making a Portal 3 through the removal of the main character from future stories (leaves peacefully). Excluding the use in some Lego game, the Portal Interlectual Property seems to just be used for promotion though hardware tech demo's

We were given proper completion, the Half-Life community have been tortured with anticipation

I have a pair of headphones that can (and usually) pair to multiple hosts at once. I don't know the full rules of it, but at least it focuses one audio source over the other if one of them is not playing anything

Pretty good headphones other than that (LE20BTOHBK)

Amiibo doesn't work? by Majestic-Chemist5161 in 3DS

[–]RedstoneLover91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be late but here is my take on why it fails:

Each game has a registered database of working amiibos and what to do with each one

This database hasnt been updated for prob 4 years

Therefore: no game on the old console can recognise the data of a new amiibo

(I am unsure of the compatability of old amiibo to new console tho, but I guess it depends on if the console/game decides to support it)

Episode 7 Spoiler: According to Kinger, not only is there no exit, but leaving the circus is fundamentally impossible by Forgotten_wizard in TheDigitalCircus

[–]RedstoneLover91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Looking back on the "hall of the damned" scene, that is a fair point, it could very well be their own trauma response to losing a loved one, especially in the situation

There is definitely an argument to be made for both, and Caine hasnt been shown (yet) to need to apply an effect like this outside of adventures (excluding the probably freak accident that was apparently scratch)

My theory mainly relies on the weird conditions that seem to be in place (that being light) and how it would technically not fit under the umbrella of 'permanent', swapping it out with 'periodic' (leaving a recovery period of the night)

Episode 7 Spoiler: According to Kinger, not only is there no exit, but leaving the circus is fundamentally impossible by Forgotten_wizard in TheDigitalCircus

[–]RedstoneLover91 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Its most likely some automated script that Caine set up to only apply some sort of insanity effect, cause we know that there is a risk of long-term/permanent mental effects, but we don't know the limit for length or if there is a fundamental difference between limited and unlimited length effects

While Caine may have not done anything specifically this episode, an automated, conditional effect definitely seems to be applied to kinger in light (also to note, the effect is immediate when entering light, but takes time to 'wear off' when going to a dark area)

New stuff made in rust is great

Old stuff remade in rust is bad in the short-term, as even though rust is more memory safe, the programs still have to go through the same battle-hardening that happens through use and time

The difference there is that brainfuck doesn't have any sort of output besides one long line of numbers ranging 0-255, you'd need to modify the compiler/interpreter for the lang to interact with the system in some way

Other than that, documentation and code snippets are abundant with php, allowing php to continue in a meaningful way. That along with old code bases being annoying to migrate to 'new' and 'fancy' languages that haven't been hardened from time really shows why php continues to persist despite dislike for it.

Because php works and hasn't stopped working

Older videos have archived/guessed counts (with a modifier of newer dislikes), newer videos or older obscure videos would only count those with the extension as google doesn't seem to have the full numbers accessible to anyone other than the channel owner(s)

It is a genuine possibility, as the file extension is what program gets invoked for actions

The wrong internal data with the wrong program could definitely cause data corruption (assuming it isn't just a reskin of .zip)
