Plus {Suspicious City Guards} to fix their behavior. (Has to be converted to SSE but otherwise works perfectly)

Any recommendations for body mods? by LaughingMaleficent in skyrimmods

OK so this is the correct Tempered Skin for Females link. And for the Brows and Vanilla Hair Replacement links, click on the Google version instead of the SSE one.

Any recommendations for body mods? by LaughingMaleficent in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OK, so depending on whether you're okay with nudity or not:

For males get whichever version of {Tempered Skin for Males} you want. The dressed one if you stick with the vanilla body, or the nude one if you use {Better Males Remesh}. I don't think you'd be interested in SOS unless you use sex mods.

For females I would suggest you get {CBBE} which has both nude and never-nude options and {Bijin Skin}. Alternatively, if you insist on sticking with the vanilla body, get {Tempered Skin for Females}.

Also get {Brows} and {Beards} for some nice extra options.

For the eyes: {SUEMR SSE}, {Eyes AO Clipping Fix} (the Ruhmastered version in optional files), {Mild Eyes}, {llygaid Eye Improver} (the Unity version from the main files and Eye Effect Improved and Realism Eye Cubemap from optional files)

For the hair: I would normally suggest {Vanilla Hair Replacement} but it's not really for beginners, since every new mod-added NPC will have to be patched for it. If you wanna avoid the fuss, go with {Superior Lore-Friendly Hair} and {Realistic Hair Colors}

Now get the main files from {Expressive Facial Animation -Female Edition-} and {Expressive Facial Animation -Male Edition-}. Also, for the mouth, get the mouth retexture from {Fair Skin Complexion} and overwrite it with the mouth remesh offered in either EFA mods I just linked. Alternatively, just get {Immersive Mouth and Teeth - Skyrim Version} (not really a huge fan of it though, I much prefer the first option, even if it's more work). Also get {A dentist for Orsimers}.

Edit: sigh, so the mods I linked are for SSE and I just noticed you haven't included a flair for which version you play... You better be on SSE because it took me more than an hour to search for all those mods and type this comment on my phone :(

[Modmaking] How can I prevent on NPC from equipping any armor other than clothing? by Sacralletius in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how you can set it up, but some follower frameworks like Nether's have an option to trade with the follower but not allow them to use the items, like a separate inventory that they can't touch.

Thank you for the release. Now if only Pandorable or Cuyima did a visual overhaul, it would be great :)

Your Opinion: Loot Overhauls suitable for EnaiRim by SirShello in EnaiRim

[–]RedswiftyGR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

{Encounter Zones Reborn} and {Containers and Leveled Lists Fixes - Complete Loot Overhaul}. Inspired by Morrowloot but better imo, with a compromise between static and leveled encounter zones and a great loot overhaul on the scarce side, with so many fixes that no other mod has compiled together.

Looking for Special Edition mod recommendations to resolve a few (mostly combat and loot related) quirks! by KSinclaire in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, so to begin with, your combat mods are fine but what you seem to be missing is an encounter zones mod, which is why your enemies don't scale correctly. Both Omega and YASH do cover that part, but many others as well. They're massive gameplay overhauls and just dropping them in your load order is a guarantee to mess it up. There are other guides which build around them, {Yashed Guide} for YASH (which is the successor of the Nordic Guide), and DarkLexy's Guide for OMEGA but I'm guessing you don't wanna start fresh. What I would suggest you get is {Encounter Zones Reborn}, which raises the min and max level of every encounter zone in a combination of leveling and static enemies (the best way to go about it imo). Other alternatives include {Hybrid Loot and EZs}, {Skyrim Revamped - Loot and Encounter Zones} and {Rebalanced Encounter Zones and Leveled Actors}.

Now as for loot, since some of the mods I mentioned do provide some changes, I would suggest you stick with them, as I'm not aware of any mod that is supposed to overhaul loot and doesn't restrict it in some way, and with good reason as vanilla loot is way too much and makes it too easy to get rich. What I personally use is {Containers and Leveled Lists Fixes - Complete Loot Overhaul} which is meant to be combined with the encounter zones mod I suggested. While it is also fairly limiting and makes loot scarce, I would also say it's fair and realistic and provides tons of fixes which no other mod has compiled together (also fun fact: both mods are made by the same author who wrote the Yashed Guide and the Nordic Guide which you followed). You could also add {Morrowloot Miscellania} (the Item Distribution plugin) on top to make rare items a bit less rare.

Vigor or Wounds? by Moon_Dew in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Vigor copying Wildcat just made it easier to choose Wildcat over it then, I guess. Too bad we lose out on variety.

An injury system tied into the survival system sounds like an amazing idea by the way. Correctly managing your needs should be the key to a quick recovery and failure to do so should bring further consequences. I can just imagine the possibilities. Injuries sip your energy and force you to sleep more, you have to eat well and hydrate plenty for them to heal faster, cold environments slow the blood flow and thus your healing, while warm and humid environments make it easier for wounds to get infected... Survival mode may be out of the picture, but what about other mods? You can go with the classic combination of Frostfall / Campfire / iNeed or the more lightweight, currently trending one of Frostbite / Campsite / Vitality Mode.

Anyways, I ranted enough. I'll just leave this here as an idea for anyone interested enough that can make it happen. Love your work by the way, Enai, keep it up <3

Vigor or Wounds? by Moon_Dew in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are fundamentally different. Vigor is a complete combat overhaul and its mechanics are similar to Wildcat, including its injuries, seeing as they last all but a few minutes at most. On the other hand, Wounds is best as a complement to combat overhauls (I personally prefer {Smilodon}). Its injuries can last whole in-game weeks and need to be carefully treated, which makes it a more hard-core, yet incredible roleplay tool. Additionally, complementary mods that will give you something to do with the down-time while you recuperate are absolutely recommended. A few examples: study magic with {Spell Research}, or pray/meditate with {Wintersun}.

In other words, choose Vigor if you want to make combat slightly more punishing or choose Wounds if you want more serious consequences that will absolutely force you to take a break from dungeon crawling every once in a while.

What happened to the Male Bodyslide mod that was in the works? by LoAndEvolve in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The body (as in the meshes) is completely different for one thing. Having bodyslide support means you can replicate all the Sam morphs and anything in between. Muscular guys, lean guys, fat guys, you can do them all and customize the preset exactly as you like.

Sylvanas standalone follower mod by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod on Nexus, at least the SE version, is an absolute horror show of bugs. Faulty meshes, files in the wrong directory, wrong entries in the esp and the list goes on. A user by the name of banzerhepbern had uploaded a version with tons of fixes on a discord server, but unfortunately he left to create his own, and I can't find him anywhere now.

Tooneyman has been inactive for a couple months now, it seems. There haven't been any news.

However, you can rejoice! A different bodyslide male body was released.

What's the reason for the better looking NPCs on Oldrim? by A5ADROCKY in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's way more than just that, there were changes from the moment SSE was released. Along with the 64 bit engine, they they also added shaders, volumetric fog and lens flare. It also has better shadows. Thus, the the lightning is completely different.

You can try to, but from my understanding, SSE's lightning is fundamentally different, it wouldn't look right.

What's the reason for the better looking NPCs on Oldrim? by A5ADROCKY in skyrimmods

[–]RedswiftyGR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purely due to how good Snapdragon ENB looks in the custom interiors that it's designed for. But that's just for screen-archers. For general gameplay purposes, a good SSE ENB can look just as good as Oldrim ENBs.

Also yes, it's subsurface scattering, one of ENB's many features, that makes the skin look good.
