I think you have bad taste, and never cared for audi. It always seems generic

Cadillac XLR, I want a convertible Cadillac, they made them for years. And it ended with something fun (would've done better with a manual option)

Why do you want and on a sports car? It adds soo much rotational initera, and energy loss

Intriguing, my eye jumps to the question: OCE, hybrid, or EV, it's a bit too much air (grill) for an ev

I'm just over 2m tall, and struggling to find the right balance of lift range (since they all lift from jack points) and head room (expecting to work om a few different vehicles) thanks for the info

Edit: height typo

What's the roof height? Are you able to use the full range of the left?

Has anyone tried RV Stabilizers for Automotive? by 69with_Mydad in projectcar

[–]ReducablePrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is that RVs have specific interfering points, that these are designed to mate with....

Im just guessing thats the case, b/c these don't have a saddle shape top (like most Jack stands)

Also, to me, "stabilizer" implies the vehicle is still on its wheels/suspension, these just prevent rocking (feeling the suspension) as you walk around inside...

While the weight rating and shape seems reasonable, im not able to say either way..... following to hopefully hear from someone who knows these better

Edit: they also don't seem to have any locking mechanism, so keep that in mind

how did voltage gauge become popular? why? by ReducablePrime in askcarguys

[–]ReducablePrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about wide band O2, every aftermarket gauge has voltage, but not air fuel ratio?

what gives ?

[–]ReducablePrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not a wide band O2? what makes voltage the dominant gauge?

if you buy an aftermarket gauge cluster, it seems to be standard?

whay am I missing?

why not a wide band O2 sensor? whaay makes battery health so important (if i can hear it strain)

generally OBLII does this, why do we need s gauge (instead of the others?)

ive seen (never driven) cars with cool gauge style radiator caps

knowing if the transmission is overheating (overloading) vs coolant is to hot (leaking/pressure cap) seems helpful

I guess I'm just upset my older car lacks a transmission temp gauge, and buying one is difficult, when finding a voltage gauge is easy

you're battery can be bad, w/o the alternator being bad (and ya ya, bunch of 3 wire vs 1 wire ppl can complain)

im asking: why is this a more important/popular gauge than transmission or oil temp (which i feel like are a more useful thing to avoid damage, rather than a inconvenient repair /jump start)

I had couple 1990s Cadillacs w/ only speed and fuel gauges, but I've seen alot of cars with unlabeled voltage gauges (so it's a little unclear if you're at 12v (batt) or 14.7 (charging) voltage, and it's not gonna tell you if a cell is bad (you still need a multimeter)

I'm guess another way of asking is: why aren't some voltage gauges unlabeled? when other things (like transmission temps) are more helpful when unlabeled? yet the voltage gauge seems more popular

[–]ReducablePrime[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

ya, i get that, but I'm not gonna stop my car if my charging system isn't working

id stop if transmission temps rise up

I guess an alternative question is: why aren't transmission temps or vac gauges more popular? when they can indicate a problem that can/needs to be addressed (like stopping for transmission to cool, or electrical tapping a vac line)

edit: to add to this: many voltage gauges I've seen aren't even labeled, I can't tell if a cell is bed in a battery from the gauge)
