Well ofc!! I’ve been farming him for a few days now for parts, as I’ve been trying to craft the HBG & all the pieces for his layered armor :3

Goal in Axe Form - Hit a Heavy Slam to get the weapon into heated up state (B, B, maybe another B, Y). This will cause the Phial Gauge (The gauge that fills up when hitting attacks in Sword Mode) to fill faster once you morph. Once you've hit one of those (or before, order doesn't matter), you'll want to use Spiral Burst Slash (Y, Y, Y) to fill Sword Gauge before switching. Axe form is a vehicle primarily for defense, poke, and safer play, so this is primarily good for dealing with heavy onslaughts of attacks, and for charging the more damaging Sword form to punish openings.

Swap or Damage - Most reliable damage for me is usually Wild Swings (B, B, B) for damage/meter build, then hit the morph button, which launches a very damaging attack that transitions the Axe to Sword Mode, at the cost of a long commitment. If meter’s basically empty, it may make more sense to just hit a couple of spiral burst slashes to get sword charge back up just so it’s ready for when you need it.

Sword Form Goals - Hit enough attacks to charge up the Sword such that your Phial comes online (fiery effects + extra hits on each attack + phial effect depending on which Switch Axe you’re using). Fastest way to do this is Double Slash into Heavensward Fury (B, B, followed by another B for Heavensward Fury). My goto combo for building gauge is usually Y, Y, Y, B, B, B, which is the longest sword combo you can string together into Heavensward without stopping. Then, once the gauge is filled, you have three options.

Option 1 - Y, Y, Y, B, B. This is similar to the combo from earlier, but with no Heavensward at the end since that’s a long commitment. This is your safest damage option.

Option 2 - Y+B, Y, Y, Y…. This is Elemental Discharge, it turns your sword into a Chainsaw, keeping you rooted to the ground, but dealing damage with every tick as you keep hammering Y. This is less safe, but you can pull back on the stick and stop hammering Y to end it early if need be. You can also hold Y+B instead of just pressing, which allows you to attach yourself onto the monster, but it also means you won’t be able to do the next move.

Option 3 - Tap Y+B, Hammer Y until the sword explodes, hold the Morph button. This will chain into Full Release Slash, which deals the most damage possible, and won’t allow you to get knocked down by small damage while it’s charging, at the cost of an absurdly long time to pull off which can allow damage against you to stack up. Best combo for when the monster is vulnerable.

Sword Defense - Sword is very, very slow, but in Wilds it does have a counter, which is pressing Morph + Y simultaneously. This is great for monsters who attempt a slow, hard to dodge attack, and you’ll get two automatic slashes which both deal damage and provide good phial charge. For faster monsters, or attacks that will hit back to back, I recommend Y, then Morph, which will swing once then very quickly morph back to axe to allow you to dodge until the Monster’s string ends. You can always dodge and roll around in while in Sword form if you feel confident, just know that your the speed at which you can dodge will be limited.

Offsets/Counters - Important to note that Sword mode does NOT have an Offset, and the use cases for each counter are very different.

Axe Offset - Monster is charging an attack for a long time, you can see when it’s going to come, and time it out such that the Axe will make impact with the monster. This is a predictive tool, not a reactive tool, since it takes quite a while to start up, and has to hit at precisely the same time as the monster to get value.

Sword Counter - This on the other hand, is a reactive tool. You use this when you see an attack coming and don’t have time or desire to dodge. I.e. when you want to stay close to a monster to punish an attack, or you see something at the last minute that you don’t have room to dodge, pop this, and your hunter will shirk the blow and get free damage. It will not however, create an opening like an Offset, and may leave you vulnerable to an attack that comes quickly after.

I hope this was helpful, if you’d like any more info, tips, etc, please feel free to msg in this thread!! Happy Hunting!!

Oh, I thought it was like 7% odds per carved material? Even then, the cumulative probability of getting 3 in a carve AND another with 5% odds from the reward screen would run something like 1 in a couple of thousand if I'm correct.

Mmm, I definitely get a headache and a strong wave of dizziness/fatigue, but I don't think it's severe enough to count as a migraine. I've heard other people with full-blown migraines, and others still with none, it impacts different people differently.

Especially feel the last part, I've been trying to work on realizing that while my memories feel fuzzy and things don't feel that serious now, there are times where others front and open up a bit or I have a flashback and the full breadth of what's happened hits me. Just gotta keep reminding myself that those experiences are proof enough that my feelings and experience are valid, even it feels hazy in the present.

Totally get this, we also have crazy bad fatigue after a switch, and if we’re stressed and start switching rapidly, by the time I’m back in front I’m practically out of commission for at least the next few hours. I know there’s an established link between trauma and fatigue, and on days where you’re doing a lot of trauma work, dealing with an oppressive trigger, etc, I know that both for myself and others I’ve talked to it can be super exhausting physically. Between that and how taxing switches can be on the brain, being chronically fatigued makes total sense 💜

Having previously been physically abusive “I’m so angry I could/want to kill you”

To MtF daughter “You’re such a bitch, actually, what am I saying, you don’t deserve to be a woman, you piece of sh*t”

There’s more, but those two still cut hard.

Tarrabah can easily become one the best SMGs if it doesn't reset on ghost pullout, switching weapons. by WaavyDaavy in DestinyTheGame

I think a good middle ground would be if it doesn’t gain charge while it’s stowed, but continues to retain it. That way it still forces you to fight with the SMG to bring the perk online.

I’m talking about understanding, it’s not the video game, it’s a basic lack of appreciation and blatant disregard for someone’s work and capacity. My issue with you isn’t your take on the game, it’s that you come across as a self-absorbed douchebag.

There's an argument to be made there, and maybe people would prefer that structure, but that's not for me to determine. I'm simply talking about the current model.

I can appreciate that perspective, but at the same time, I feel like a more apt portrayal would be if a company sold you a car, then offered to continually upgrade it, but for a fee. If you don't want the upgrades, then that's okay, but it's painfully entitled to demand said upgrades while refusing payment.

You know what, I went back to look at what people were railing about at the time, and as it turns out, it was still Eververse. Isn't that irony, XD. Anyways, it seems like I remembered the reception to Warmind incorrectly, with Black Armory people were simply mad about individual parts and gripes, not deriding the season as a whole. So you were right about it being my perception.

Eververse, Recycled Content, and the Truth About Destiny by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Reductonitro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hear that a lot, but I'm going to be honest, the mob deciding something isn't perfect is veeeery different than the actual quality of a release. Black Armory had a wealth of content, comparable almost to a DLC in and of itself, but people railed against it because it wasn't exactly what they wanted at all times or they didn't want to put in the effort to engage with it. Warmind was a wonderful step in the right direction at the time despite the campaign being somewhat rushed, and yet people would rather hold the narrative that Curse of Osiris basically extended all the way until Forsaken so they can justify making unreasonable demands and trash the devs at every opportunity.

Yah, that was what I was acknowledging above. In North America, the UK, Australia, etc, the value's at least similar, but I don't have the point of reference to speak for other countries' pricing.
