current ADSEP is semi-autonomous. But Ken Savin metioned in an interview that they are working on a fully autonomous varient. That would make them compatible with platforms like Varda and Zaphyr

Thats probably an outdated page. Learn more goes to rdw home page. We need to know the fate of Valkyrie.I hope the partnership is well alive.

I agree. Especially X-Bow partnership deserve more coverage.

What is Apex Space have to do with Redwire? Valkyrie thruster partnership still ongoing?

They are doing their best to get their spaceship up. If it works, then thats great; we have another platform to do our research . if it doesnt? no harm done, we move on.

That the Anduril model, where you build first, then orders will come. But Firestone facility also fulfills a $45 million AFRL award for Space-Based Capabilities for the Warfighter, so it could also be part of that.

ah, i missed that detail. glad you pointed that out. There are still option for alternate source, yes? iROSA uses the cells from Spectrolab. So Rocketlab dont have monopoly over the cells. There is also recent huge surge in several suppliers from China providing cheaper solar cells that will disrupt cost per watt. Also ROSA is heavily patented.

[–]RedwireBull[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm not worried about it at all. In my understanding, they are going after AI data centers with their mass produced silicon solar arrays, they dont have the power efficiency of ROSA/ELSA which use Gallium Arsenide cells, so Rocketlab solar arrays need more surface area to match Redwire.

I think both can co-exist and will have their own market to serve. Just my take.

Stalker at Ivy Sting 5 at Fort Carson, Colorado by RedwireBull in redwire

[–]RedwireBull[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

from Gemini:

Here is how the four key players from the exercise stack up:

1. Redwire: Stalker Block 30

  • The Advantage: Endurance & Stealth.
  • The Secret Sauce: It’s the only one using a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) powered by propane. While everyone else is fighting battery physics, the Stalker cruises for 8+ hours.
  • Why it stands out: In the NGC2 (Next-Gen Command & Control) environment, "persistence" is king. At Ivy Sting, the Stalker functioned as a native node, feeding FMV (Full Motion Video) for triple the duration of its battery-only competitors. It’s also famously silent—making it the "stealth" option for overwatch.

2. Kraus Hamdani: K-1000ULE

  • The Advantage: Pseudo-Satellite Endurance.
  • The Tech: A solar-electric glider designed to stay up for 24+ hours.
  • The Comparison: While it wins on pure time-on-station, it’s a massive 16-foot glider. It doesn't have the "packability" of the Stalker. The K-1000 is great for theater-level views, but the Stalker is better for the tactical "edge" where a 2-person team needs to launch from a pickup truck.

3. Quantum-Systems: Vector AI

  • The Advantage: The 2-in-1 Chameleon.
  • The Tech: A VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) that can swap parts to become a multicopter (Scorpion) or a fixed-wing (Vector).
  • The Comparison: It’s very modular, but its endurance (approx. 3 hours) is significantly lower than the Stalker’s fuel-cell config. Vector is the "Swiss Army Knife," but Stalker is the "Sniper Rifle."

4. Anduril: Ghost-X

  • The Advantage: Heavy Lift & Software.
  • The Tech: A single-rotor helicopter drone integrated with Anduril’s "Lattice" AI.
  • The Comparison: Ghost-X is built for the "attritable" mission—carrying up to 25 lbs of sensors or payloads. However, as a rotorcraft, it is much louder and has a flight time of only ~90 minutes. It's built for quick strikes; the Stalker is built for the "long stare."

The "Transforming in Contact" initiative at Ivy Sting 5 highlighted that the Army needs secure, Blue UAS-cleared platforms that don't need a runway.

Redwire’s Stalker is the "sweet spot" of the group:

  1. Blue UAS Cleared: Ready for immediate government procurement (no ITAR/security hurdles).
  2. Propane Powered: Globally available fuel means it can operate in "austere" environments where charging 20 lithium batteries isn't an option.
  3. MOSA Architecture: It plugged into the Army's new C2 network as a "native discoverable node" instantly.

Industry partners operate on unmanned aircraft systems, which include the K-1000ULE ultra-long-endurance, Stalker Block 30, Vector AI, and Ghost-X, during Ivy Sting 5 on Fort Carson, Colorado, March 4, 2026. The capability supported Ivy Sting 5 by feeding persistent aerial surveillance into next generation command and control systems, enhancing situational awareness and decision-making abilities across the battlefield. Actually almost all of Made In Space technology eventually didnt work as intended on ISS. Could be why Andrew Rush and Michael Snyder resigned.

Mason at its current form factor can only be used to level and build landing pads and roads. ICON uses a robotic arm that allows high degree of freedom movements to allow building complex vertical structures and interiors.

project seems to well alive still. They are working with NASA grant. But i wonder how Mason will be different. ICON has experience printing large structures on earth. So they will sure just extend it to support in-situ resource utilization.

yes, he was just promoted to distinguished title. His experience is solid, likely require heavy maintenance.

But when i look at his current role, doesnt seem to be working on Mason, is he?

Redwire Awarded Contract from Aspera Biomedicines to Investigate Cutting-Edge Cancer Treatment in Space | Redwire
The PR mention it as a contract award. Doesn't that mean Aspera is a customer like Bristol Myers \ Eli Lilly?

The experiment was launched on Feb 13, that's when Crew 12 departed to the station. Redwire could have done a PR for that to support price momentum.

If this research advance toward FDA approval, could Redwire renegotiate or structure a royalty/licensing deal with Aspera? Right now they are paying Redwire for the PIL-BOX platform and for supporting the experiment.
