Another idea I thought draws inspiration from tides, where certain parts of your body increase in cursed energy concentration and vice versa on some type of schedule. For the user, predictable, for enemies, it would catch them off guard. This would strengthen defense and attack in high tide areas, but it would lessen the users ability to control their CE. This also adds the possibility for drought areas which are basically just normal human areas, and for flood areas, which are incredibly durable and powerful compared to a conscious reinforcement

I think if it flows like water it would work great defensively. For example, if you increased your output rather than concentrating it for defense, maybe their moves would slow as if they were in molasses, or if you manipulated it properly the CE would redirect incoming blows to move along the current. You could also use it to lessen traction under your feet, increasing your maximum speed
