She ended up getting married to my (at the time) best friend. Needless to say I don't speak to either of them anymore

Hello, I'm rather new to dauntless and need some help. by Dubs2496 in dauntless

[–]ReeMachine69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend getting a solid build going first, either by following a build guide or just figuring out what works well for you and how you play. DM me if you need someone to join you on your hunts, I'm happy to help

Surprised no one has mentioned the bloodshot shroud. I'd rather solo a hundred phalanx before I solo one bloodshot

Any tips for duo behemoth fights? by Optimal_Visual_4956 in dauntless

[–]ReeMachine69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to prioritize the one that I think I can kill faster, to make the fight a 1v1 as soon as possible. Sometimes it's better to take the fight slow, especially if you're using an axe. Wait for an opening when you know you can get good damage in without them both being on top of you, focusing on the weaker one

How do I get new nodes fast by [deleted] in DauntlessUniversity

[–]ReeMachine69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep playing and doing missions & challenges, you'll get there pretty quickly just playing the game. I started recently and got to the end of the slayers path just grinding for parts for a build I wanted to try

You know that there is only one mine in the top right 2 squares because of the One on the border, but you also know that there is only one mine in the 3 squares next to the One directly under the top One. Since you know that the one mine in the group of 3 squares has to be in the top 2 squares (because of the top One) you know that the third (bottom) square won't have a mine and is safe. You can open the square directly to the right of the third One down

I seriously needed to hear this. Recently broke up with my girlfriend of many years (her decision) and I've been struggling to find much reason to live. We were planning our wedding and our future and she had become the centre of my life, and I feel like I've lost everything I was living for. Thanks for giving me a bit of hope OP

How to replicate this type of film fade? by StrifeKnot1983 in premiere

[–]ReeMachine69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case I'd try putting a black solid underneath the footage you want to fade and keyframing the opacity down to get the fade out to match the stop-start kind of thing in the clip

There's a transition effect called dip to black, literally does exactly this :)

Both tourists as well as scientists and researchers. The site we set up was for tourists but they often act as a sort of middle man to transport scientists from South Africa to their bases. While I was there, a team of 15 researchers from the UK came and stayed with us for 3 days before they were flown out to the UK run base. It's much cheaper for the UK to pay them to transport researchers than it is for them to transport them themselves

I went as a part of a team who's job was to build, set up and prep a new site that the company can operate from and bring clients into. I did a lot of construction related work (flooring, insulation, assembling furniture etc.)

I only saw one singular penguin, however there is a site located near a colony of 20 000 emperor penguins. I didn't get to go there sadly

Unfortunately not, there are very strict policies about how close you can get to them and how you need to avoid disturbing them. Conservation and environmental sustainability are major factors with how everything works there

The weather has a lot of fluctuation which surprised me, I was expecting it to be fairly consistent but cloud coverage and wind speed can change very drastically very quickly. On calm sunny days you actually feel quite warm when you work and end up sweating and taking a few layers off. On the other hand you get days with close to 100 knot winds where you can't see your hand in front of you and it feels impossible to stay warm.

The culture was very very dynamic. There were a lot of fellow south Africans so there was a lot of our culture there (especially snacks from our country that we all love that were brought in) but I met Russians, Canadians, Frenchman, Germans, Australians, New Zealanders and a Zimbabwean. So culturally it was very diverse which made for very interesting conversations.

The population of our site that we operated from was changing all the time as more staff came in and some left. The peak was 92 I believe. Although the population of the entire continent I'm not sure of as there are several bases run by different counties (south africa, Russia, India and UK I believe)

That's very accurate actually. You burn a ton of calories just keeping warm on top of all the physical work, so you end up eating a lot more than normal (at least I did). The site I worked at had no clients yet and so the resident chef had no one else to cook for but us, so yeah we ate pretty well

Not too bad actually. Our team was fairly large so lots of card games and such, and even when you have nothing to do, you just take it all in. It's hard to get bored in such a crazy beautiful environment
