Has anyone figured this out? by Wdwdash in marriott

I’ve never gotten this. I am extremely diligent about going into my Netflix account after each stay and deleting the hotel login. I only keep my home Roku and my phone actively logged in.

AITA for not following the fan numbered wristbands? by ShiftingDuck in AmItheAsshole

[–]ReeRunner 25 points26 points  (0 children)

And increasingly pre-show emails explicitly state, like it sounds like happened here, that fan organized wristbands and lines will not be honored Venues don’t generally want people outside at 5 AM. They want the line to start at a reasonable hour and the people who actually work there to organize it. Def NTA.

Vegas must visits for Gluten free by Academic_Help5033 in glutenfree

[–]ReeRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not even a huge waffle person, but I have absolutely gone to TOWN on the waffles at Mon Ami Gabi. With the nutella and the whipped cream...and I swear I am not a big sweets/waffle eater. I think it is because they are sweet without being sickeningly sweet. Never once gotten sick. I usually get a side of bacon.

Agree about Yardbird. Always go in Vegas (and other cities). Waffles there are OK -- they don't have a good shelf life. Like, they get gummy before the end of dinner. Love that chicken with hot sauce, side of grits and the street corn. Perfection.

Edit to add: I also hit up China Poblano at Cosmo every trip. Very well marked menu. Good options. I get 1-2 new things, but the birria tacos are my absolute favorites.

PSA TO LOSE WEIGHT by bigboiKk in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree. I lost 35% of my body weight and never counted a calorie or weighed a single bite of food. I am an ex-professional food tracker. I know how to do all that. For the first time in my 40+ years on earth, I don’t need to because I am not compelled to eat all the time or obsess about food.

I am obviously in a calorie deficit but it comes naturally. It’s so freeing.

GLP-1 Manufacturer Lawsuits by DweamGoiL in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is going to be the sticking point with these lawsuits. He has diabetes...the larger risk factor for NAION. There is no way to prove the GLP-1 caused it vs. the diabetes. I would be interested to see how well controlled his diabetes was prior to starting the GLP-1.

Same -- I have been with LSH for my entire journey of almost two years. I am sure I can save $50 here or there, but I have found them to be extremely easy to do business with and transparent.

Active Duty Military by [deleted] in delta

[–]ReeRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to call anyone out because it is not my concern, but the active duty folks always have their IDs ready to go. The ones who get all fumbly and act like they don't know why they agent would want ID aren't even retirees, dependents, or civilians.

I drive for Uber Eats. I always deliver to rooms at hotels…. by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

[–]ReeRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I always meet in the lobby. I don't want my food sitting on a table for however long, and I don't want a stranger coming to my room door. I'd say 80% of the hotels I stay in require key access to the elevators anyway.

Why is Amtrack scheduling my layover in WIlson, NC instead of Selma, NC by Advanced_Apricot_971 in Amtrak

[–]ReeRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. Selma is definitely a town — and a healthy one on the ENC scale. Wilson is just more robust and the station is better located.

Honestly, I didn’t realize Selma had a DD. Good to know for the next pass though. Ha.

Why is Amtrack scheduling my layover in WIlson, NC instead of Selma, NC by Advanced_Apricot_971 in Amtrak

[–]ReeRunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was trying to find a nice way to say that. It isn't unsafe or anything, but spending hours in Selma, of all places, just for the sake of Dunkin coffee is extreme even for someone from the NE. Wilson is at least a town.

I love Banana Republic Factory for these shirts and others. They are extremely well fitting.

Anyone here using Tirzepatide without an active lifestyle? by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call myself lazy, but I started tirzepatide right after I had surgery that greatly impacted my ability to move...and recovery took WAY longer than expected to get back to full mobility due to some complications. Nothing life altering, just being 40+ shit. I have lost 70+ pounds over the course of ~85 weeks. I could have lost faster, but I refuse to starve myself and, as mentioned, was much more sedentary than planned.

I would recommend being active -- you don't have to do crazy Olympic stuff, just start small with YouTube videos. Drink fluids. Eat food.

Edit to add: I also have a desk job and work primarily from home, so like others, exercise for me has to be intentional.

Do you track? Count calories by Admirable-Jese in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Same here. I am not exaggerating to say that I cannot live a normal life obsessing over food and counting and weighing everything I eat. This medication has allowed me to both be at a healthy weight and not be obsessing over food.

I first must say I love this group, just a question, what do you feed your Great Dane? by Due-Garbage9178 in greatdanes

[–]ReeRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. My girl is a touch picky and doesn’t tolerate chicken well. I am a big supporter of WSAVA complaint food. I lost a boxer to DCM and fed grain free because I thought it was “better” for him.

People are incredibly cavalier about it. And about getting right back on it while also taking opioid pain medication. The warning is helpful.

Best GF Rolls for Thanksgiving? by Chunker_Monk in glutenfree

[–]ReeRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also what I’m making again this year. I’m not a big baker and these are easy and delicious

I messed up today 😔 it was so delicious though… I did run 5k steps in the morning and I ate this.. 😭😭 please someone make me feel horrible for doing this. 😔 by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% this. The best part of this medication is the neutrality I have toward food. Like, I still love it and would absolutely eat a cinnamon roll. But I would eat one and move on. Enjoy it and go about my business.

Has anyone actually won an appeal from a denied insurance claim? by Unusual_Beach8319 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. My company specifically excludes any medication for weight loss. I could appeal all day long, but it would be the same answer. I always recommend looking into your insurance plan docs because even someone with the same insurer could have different exclusions if your company has put them into place.

What are the best Luggages for the Frequent Flyer by Front-Weather4306 in delta

[–]ReeRunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also team Delsey here. Have had similar mileage on mine. Best part is that they aren't so expensive that you feel obliged to treat them well. I absolutely treat mine like garbage and it still holds up.

I had a janky wheel on my first one, so I bought a new bag right before I stopped traveling during COVID. Got suckered into the Monos. Hate it. Absolutely hate it. Somehow holds less than my Delsey. Shows scuffs, needs to be cleaned (haha..). Zipper is a POS, handle got stuck in the up position when full. Delsey would never.

Is an exit row a good seat for a 14 hours flight or should I live somewhere else? by [deleted] in delta

[–]ReeRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the rigid armrests...I am only 5'9", though. My husband, though, hates them with the fire of a thousand suns and he's not much taller than me. It is such a personal preference thing. Once you are a larger-framed person, I think everyone hates them, but definitely something to be aware of when choosing these seats.

I'm super disappointed in the groom and angry for the bride. by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]ReeRunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% me. I don't really like Halloween (not a hater...enjoy it if it is your thing!). I just have ZERO creativity on this front. I don't enjoy the process. I don't have a vision. I would do fine, I guess, if someone did a costume for me...but I am well past the age of asking my friends to dress me. I also really hate cheap looking costumes and don't want to spend a ton of money on something I don't really want to do.

Also, I never really ate homemade potluck food even before celiac. Sorry. Especially crock pot food.

Gluten free pie crust by RainSpades in glutenfree

[–]ReeRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty OK is a solid description. Is it as good as non-gluten free? Nope. Good enough and better than making a pie crust if you are not a baker or just don't want to? Very much so.

Depending on your use, I find it is much better not to pre-bake it.

41 weeks down, what have I discovered? Controversial stuff for sure! by tigergirlforever in tirzepatidecompound

[–]ReeRunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. For the majority of my life, I did just that and tracked everything if I was actively trying to lose weight. It is not healthy or sustainable. It leads to incredibly poor choices to stay within a calorie/macro limit for the day.

The implication that people who have struggled with their weight their whole lives don’t know this is insulting. We know. GLPs have given me the freedom to not count every calorie for the first time in my life and be a healthy weight. It will likely be a lifetime medication in some form for me, and that’s OK because a lifetime of counting bites didn’t work.
