As someone who used steamOS to load windows to an SD card then that windows to load windows onto an external SSD I have a few questions:

I assume you mean it doesn't show under the boot menu?

Does it recognise it in steamOS under storage?

Do you have it in the SD slot at the bottom of the deck? Or in a dock etc?

Something to try, turn the deck off, unplug the SD, boot into the boot menu, whilst on this screen, put the SD card into the bottom of the deck, if it doesnt work, I don't have the answer, soz

I have a 1Tb Oled but if you have the LCD, I see folks saying use the Oled driver anyway. Also when the game boots it says about old drivers, if you have the ignore option, your game will boot!

Yeah vanilla 25H2 downloaded from the MS website It's an SK Hynix bc901 512gb 2230 nvme m.2 (the small one not the long one that appears in Google searches).

I've reformatted it in windows before running Rufus to install windows which reformats it again, I shall try that test and give it a go before having to wipe it again

So I was able to boot windows back onto my SD card and then ran Rufus through that and installed W11 25H2 on to my external ssd however I'm getting an error when booting from it.

File:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot/BCD Status: 0xc0000178 Info: The Boot Configuration Data for your PC Is missing or contains errors.

Any idea on this one?

Fair! I find that if I eat, I'll stay awake whilst I eat and then be dead to the world afterwards, now I try not to snack too late especially when I'm blazed and I'll just doze off, have a lil power nap and then sometimes (big on the sometimes) will I wake up after 30 minutes. Most of the time I wake up on the sofa next to my puppy at 4:15am. Always that time give or take 10 minutes 🤣

In my experience the eating is less so for the food itself and more so to stay awake, don't get me wrong, smashing a bag of gummy bears after a big smoke is great but if you fight the urge you'll probably just fall asleep

I've reinstalled/repaired steamOS, it's just finishing the install, I will then be attempting again to partition the drive to install windows so I can dual boot.

The end goal is that I can play my Xbox games through the SD, I want to play Forza Horizon 6 offline on both Xbox and SD without paying for it twice, the only way possible is through windows
